visited 18.10.07 to 21.10.07 with a party of 23 theatricals for a reunion.
From the brochure we expected much , but discovered little.
The rooms were generally overcrowded and missing clothes storage facilities , such as wardrobes or drawers. "Super King Size beds" are two separate beds pushed together. Ensuite bathrooms are tiny and poorly equipped , only some have fibre optic lighting. Towels never changed , bins not emptied. Dirty , manual only extractor fan .Dirt under bed and wardrobe includes : Child's Book. Chocolate. Sweet Wrapper. Wine Cork.
Child's Toy. Screw Top.
Dust to skirtings , architraves , bed head and unit tops.
Trailing extension leads.
Room accessed externaly to dingy entrance corridor or , subject to availability , through the restaurant. A survey of fellow guests regarding bedroom suitability ranged from "Not too bad" to "Dreadful" "Dirty" "Crowded" Pathetic" and "Horrible"
No resident's lounge , the bar has seating for 13 , we were a party of 23 and there were other guests. Range of drinks limited and expensive.
The adjoining restaurant serves a basic breakfast but excels at dinner. We had booked in advance for our party to dine at 7.00 on Friday evening but were told at 5.45 that we would have to eat at 6.00 (No doubt to allow for a second sitting).
Basically , this is a One Star hotel with a Four Star restaurant.
Eat here , stay elsewhere.
