Hi
what a lovely hotel to stay at the staff are friendly and very helpful the food was very good(althought there was a queue at breakfast) the hotel was booked to capacity when we where there and the staff where incredibly busy but that did work somewhat in our favour as we got a free upgrade to one of the suites(we where only staying the one night)
some tips:
park outside the main entrance take your bags in and ask the desk to park your car
the cocktail bar (maloneys)is very expensive but has nights when it is 2 for 1(sunday being one of these)and it is entertaining to watch the bartender in action
there is a wetherspoons about 5mins walk away to the right of the hotel
use the ammenities the pool/spa/gym is well presented and free(accessed to the rear of maloneys)
check their web site they have special offers that are real bargains
HAVE A GOOD TIME(best tip of all)
hope thats of some help have a great break we did

  • Liked — food was excellent staff too
  • Disliked — not alot the lift could do with a clean?
  • Tips/Secrets: — watch for 2 for 1 in cocktail bar check their web site offers

Stayed in this hotel for 1 night and that was too long. To be fair the room was ok (booked an ex room), it was a bit on the small side but clean and tidy.
The staff were friendly upon arrival and things looked as though it was a good choice.
That was until about one o`clock in the morning when the bar let out, then the noise was terrible. We were on the third floor and you could hear everything that was going on down in the street. No double glazing.
Then we went for breakfast which was the worst part of the stay. The restaurant staff were next to useless. There was about 4-5 tables being used when we arrived and shown to our table straight away, asked if we wanted any tea and toast which we then waited 20 mins for, and asking 2 different members of staff about, it finally arrived. Had breakfast eventually after waiting 1/4 hour for the eggs. We were asked if we would like anymore toast to which we said "yes please". That was a big mistake, we waited another 20min and then decided to give up and go home.
At check out we asked to speak to the duty manager and explained what had happened and we were not surprised to be told, "I am very sorry about this ,but you are the 5th complaint I have had this morning". Enough said, the restaurant had only been open 90mins.
We did not pay for breakfast and we will not be gong back there again.

I've stayed at the Scarisbrick on a number of occasions over the last 6 years, and I'm sorry to say I've seen a steady decline in the overall quality of the hotel.

This is based on my most recent trip (October 21st and 22nd 2006)

Room:
Good points: Comfy bed, hot shower, sky sports on the TV
Bad points: unpleasant smell coming from the plug hole of the sink (which looked dirty), the toilet didn't flush properly, the duvet material was a really heavy and uncomfortable nylon - felt like chain mail!

Breakfast:
This used to be excellent but I'm afraid the standards are really going down hill here. the yoghurts on the cold selection were warm. After getting our cooked breakfast, we weren't asked whether we'd like tea or coffee until a good ten mins after sitting down and the toast (when it came) was so cold it could it could have come out of the fridge. The cooked breakfast itself was quite nice, but there was a 5 minute wait for bacon and baked beans when they ran out.

Staff:
Staff were very friendly and helpful, from front desk through to the maids. Couldn't fault this.

Other comments:
The lift (which also gets used for food I think) smelled unpleasant and could do with a thorough clean. Use only when needed!

The Scarisbrick is a centrally located hotel that is probably the best on offer in Sotuhport town centre. Perhaps because the competition is so poor it has let its standards slip. A shame, as its numerous guests paying approx £50 per person per night deserve better.

Stayed for 2 nights, not the cheapest at £240 inclusive but well worth the money, everything you want under one roof, great pool and facilities, great atmoshere in the bars, although drinks prices were ridiculously high in Maloneys, maybe cut down on the bottle spinning Tom Cruise Bartenders and cut the prices.best to run down the road to wetherspoons for a few first
Gorgeous Meal in Knightsbridge £17 for a 4 course meal and very nice as well, staff excellent, breakfast ok but get some bigger plates though, and its not the end of the world if someone wants 3 peices of bacon
we will be staying again
