We visited midweek in October whilst staying at the Ramada Jarvis in Southport. Took around 10-15 minutes to get here but well worth it. We came across the restaurant as we were passing to go to Martin Mere. It was closed but the lady (we think the owner) came out of the pub next door and let us look at the menus. 2 Courses £9.95 or 3 Courses £12.50 for mid week special and you could also add a bottle of house wine for £9.95.
We decided to give it a go, turned up, drinks order quickly taken and the food was amazing. One of us ate curried carrot and butternut squash and I had crab and crayfish salad. For mains there was a belly pork dish with black pudding, steak and chips and seabass with potatoes, butternut squash and pesto. Puddings we chose a selection of ice creams and 2 creme brulee. Best creme brulee we've EVER had! One minor niggle - menu described my main as "sea bass fillets" and I only received one.
We ordered 2x3 course menu, 1x2 course menu, 2 soft drinks and a bottle of wine and it was less than £56 which for 3 people was a bargain.
Will visit again if in the area and would highly recommend.
