“3 night stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2014

Without exception the staff were wonderful; friendly and nice in a way that didn't suggest they *had* to be, but because they *wanted* to be.

Lounge and bar areas were clean, clear, comfortable and evoked the sense of pure holidaying you can only get in a great hotel.

The on-site restaurant was superb, truly great food and served with care.

The rooms were spacious, very clean and guaranteed a solid night's sleep.

My only gripe was the weakness of the free WiFi, it didn't reach our 2nd floor room and could be intermittent downstairs. And that's just me nitpicking.

A great stay though. If you go to Tenby, stay here. Do it.

We booked in for two nights and wasn't disappointed. Although it's a small double it comes with a balcony with views over the beach, the old war fort and Caldey Island. Excellent to sit out on and watch the sun set. Swimming pool, steam room and jacuzzi are all on the lower floor and was quiet when we used it. All very clean and tidy with very helpful staff. Would recommend to anybody and we would certainly come back again and book into the same room. (Rm 17)

Ended up here when every other hotel in Tenby was booked out, probably as they had realistic prices.Tenby (a Bray lookalike) was recommended as an overnight stop before heading on the Pembroke ferry. In hindsight we should have just stayed at the Travelodge in Pembroke, considering our very positive stay at the one in Amesbury. Anyway back to the Atlantic hotel. As I was craving a hotel with a hairdryer, an iron and an elevator after a string of 'inns', we tried 6 hotels in Tenby, but all were full...then the Atlantic had rooms but soooooooooo expensive STG138 for a double and STG133 for a single with extra charges for sea view rooms. That's Eur 340 for 2 rooms:-( We were exhausted from driving so had to bite the bullet..Rooms were so small, there is no room to put the cases down, they needed to be opened on the bed and then returned to their standing positions beside the wardrobe. While the girl at reception was efficient on check in there was a lack of warmth, friendliness and overall helpfulness. She was again in attendence at check out (hotel requests a 10.30am check out Ridiculously early) and did not look up from her computer when saying Goodbye.Breakfast is the usual standard self service fare for a 3 star, fry, basic cereals, yoghurt, croissants. No cheese or ham for the non fry fans. Although I could smell the pool we didn't bother with it.Nor did we eat as we were too late for food.Last orders 9pm.I was looking forward to the Greek restaurant Mykonos but on entering the smell of deep fried food made me turn around and exit asap.Perhaps it may have been good but their last orders of 9.30 was simply too much of a rush for us. The Corfu on Parliament St., Dublin is the best Greek restaurant we have encountered west of Germany.
The hotel has a lovely private terrace across the road with steps down to the beach. They also have free Wifi but it is less than 1Mb in the rooms, 12Mb near the reception area. When I mentioned this at reception I was told there were no complaints to date about the weak signal in the rooms. The elderly profile of the residents I saw while there would explain that. The bar is a front room with no atmosphere, where most residents are gone to bed early..........All in all, their prices would want to improve before I would stay again. There are a plethora of hotels on the sea front, Clarence House Hotel, Panorama, Giltar but I have no idea what they are like, roomwise or pricewise.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are a must -why stay on the sea front otherwise?

Only thing that i was upset about was the staff phone ringing from the utility room opposite at a stupid time in the morning. Was very nice and clean, the room we had was very small for the price we paid. Staff were really polite and helpful. We will definitely stay again. It was a shame we didn't get a chance to use the pool.

Room Tip: Room 18, utility room opposite with door open and phone rings at silly time of the morning, is small...

We had one of their best rooms overlooking the Tenby beach and it was quality with amazing views day and night. The hotel has a pool, steam room, heated chairs and a jacuzzi. There are a few rooms also where you can go and just chill out looking out to the sea. They have their own private car park which is at the side of the hotel so parking is never a problem.

Room Tip: Pay the extra and get a sea view, you won't regret it. For some reason on their website those ro...

Stayed 1 night with my daughter , the hotel is clean and presented nicely . Our room , decor and furniture dated but it was ok . After a over priced meal at Carringtons restaurant , we couldn't sleep because it was awfully hot even with a fan and the beds are to say the least un comfortable . They are sprug mattresses and you can feel the springs . Breakfast is poor , firstly no spoons to serve the hot buffet , crossiants were dry and seemed stale . No cream for coffee in a hotel mind lol . Also the hotel is more suitable for elderly people . Overall I wont stay again sorry , but would like to say the hotel is clean to its advantage .
