“two night stay in tenby”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013

This is a charming old fashioned hotel just outside of Tenby, walkable into town, about ten minutes , but downhiil ( or uphill on the way back) most people get a cab back .The Broadmead is on a quietish road, no heavy traffic. In February the weather meant that the garden at the back of the house wasn't pleasant to sit out in, in summer this would be a heavenly quiet space ; there is a conservatory onto the garden but this wasn't open, although I'm sure this would have been available if asked

The hotel itself is comfortable , my room 15 had tea and coffee facilities , hairdrier and plenty of storage for clothes etc The ensuite was very clean, equipped with fluffy white towels and essential toiletries.

There is a small bar and sitting area and a large dining room

Breakfast and evening meal are available.Meals are freshly cooked and there is a fair basic choice from the menu. there is the offer of a daily special for the evening meal. or you can choose from the menu The Broadmead uses local suppliers for meat, poultry , fish and cheeses.

Very friendly staff, I would definitely go there again

Room Tip: I travelled solo and had an upgrade room which cost me an extra £40 . Room 15 has a massive bed...

Stayed for two nights on a KGB deal. Asked for a room with a bath, no problem. Room was spot on. Staff could not have been more helpful. Breakfast and evening meal was beautifully cooked, served and locally sourced. The young lady was extremely pleasant. Ideal base for the wonderful town on Tenby which until we visited, found it to be an historical walled town. Very pleasant as was Saundersfoot. Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

We stayed here on a KGB deal and its was more than we could have hope for on such a good deal.

Some reviews have mentioned small rooms but ours was large enough to use as a base for visiting Tenby and Saundersfoot by day and having a drink and meal in Tenby town by night.

Room was beautifully decorated, bathroom, spacious with nice large, hot electric shower. Room was heated with controllable radiator. Nice bedding and pine furniture.

Bar and lounge are pretty with a tv. Nice conservatory overlooking lawned rear garden.

Breakfast was traditional English, with a variety of options, plus cereal, fruits and yogurts. A Very good start to the day.

Hotel also offers evening meals but we did not sample but judging by the lovely smells this would have been worth a try.

We would definately recommend this lovely Welsh hotel.

Stayed for three nights, yes the rooms are a little small and a little dated, however the food and service was excellent. Simon the owner and chef was more than happy to help in anyway he could and the breakfast was freshly cooked to order, I can't understand some of the negative comments that have been left, but from my point of view I would have no issues recommending this hotel to friends and family

We enjoyed a 3 night break at the Broadmead using a KGB voucher. We stayed in room 14 which was a bit on the small side but with a roomy bathroom. It had good tea/coffee making facilities, very hot water for the lovely wide bath and shower and a radiator easily controllable. The bed was really comfortable and we enjoyed varied breakfasts and got on very well with the staff.
The hotel is a longish walk away from Tenby town centre but this is more than compensated by the peace and quiet of the area.

Room Tip: Go for room 14

We spent a couple of nights at this hotel in December 2012, On arrival we rang a bell and waited about 5 mins for someone to come to reception, we booked in and were shown to our very small and very dated room. The bathroom was even worse, antique shower and nowhere to put toiletries, if you balanced them on the sink, they fell in.
Breakfast was good.
The WiFi didn't work.
We were in a room above the front door which banged shut very loudly every time anyone came in or out of the hotel.
I agree with other reviewers the hotel is a fair distance from Tenby town.
On checkout, we were not asked if we enjoyed our stay, we were just presented with our bill and that was that.
Fawlty Towers at its worst!
We will not be returning to this hotel.

Room Tip: Avoid the room above the front door!
