“Honest Opinion”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2012

Just returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel and on the whole it was a very enjoyable..The staff are first class and work very hard, the food is excellent both at Breakfast and Dinner but drinks are a little pricey. The one big negative was our room which to say the least needed a major refurb as the room was very worn and tired looking and double glazing would be a great improvement as every morning we were faced with major condensation which made the room feel damp and also created a musty smell, also the walls seemed paper thin as we could hear next doors and the guests above us conversations clearly. With a little investment into making the rooms more attractive this hotel could be a gem.

JB.

Room Tip: Avoid ground floor rooms.

we have just spent 3 nights staying at this hotel. It was very friendly with excellent service. The food was out of this world so we just eat there for the 3 nights instead if looking elsewhere. the bedroom with ensuite had everything that we needed for a comfortable stay. A little oldey worldey but within the character of the building. Without KGB we would not have tried it but definitely we would return and also recommend to others. Thank you for a wonderful time and making us feel at home

We had a very poor standard room for what is supposed to be a 3 star rating. Very small room on the ground floor (room 4) hard bed, overhead lights above the bed are blinding, no bedside cabinet just overhead cupboard and wardrobe, which is a waste of space. Very musty smell in the room, the windows are not double glazed so full of condensation and very dirty sills around the windows, I don't think they have ever been cleaned. But the worst was the bathroom which is virtually right next to the bed with a sliding door that in very inadequate as it does not close properly so there is a distinct lack of privacy. Overall the room was shabby, worn and needed reburbishing. We paid for two nights but left after one.

We've just spent a 3 night break with KGB at this wonderful hotel. We received a wonderful welcome with Simon offering to carry our luggage - now that's what I call service!! The room was great - they had really made the most of the space with plenty of room to store everything. The bed was very comfortable - my fiancé suffers from rheumatoid arthritis and is very fussy about mattresses as he can't sleep on a very hard or very soft mattress, and this one was perfect. We were on the ground floor just off the bar area and we slept fine every night - no noise penetrated through the door to the corridor where our room was. The conservatory is a lovely place to sit and have afternoon tea and to get to meet the other guests. The place was full over the weekend, very busy, but Simon and Julia and all the staff were never too busy to help us out. The food in the restaurant was absolutely fantastic - we ate here 2 out of the 3 nights and we regretted not eating here on the 2nd night as the food we had in a restaurant in Tenby cost just as much but was not anywhere near the standard at the Broadmead. I must say that I agree completely with the previous review - please give this lovely hotel and Simon and Julia a chance. You won't be sorry.

we stayed at the Broadmead with our 9 year old grandaughter & had a lovely superior room overlooking the garden! the room was decorated to a high standard for a 3 * hotel and was spotlessly clean. the food in the restaurant was excellent as was the service - lovely breakfasts too!! they have a conservatory overlooking the garden which is great for relaxing in for a game of scrabble or a pre-dinner drink! thanks simon - hope to see you again.

We have just come back from our second visit to this hotel we stayed in the family room in the annex if you have two children this is perfect as there is a second bedroom for the kids to sleep in. The room could do with a little updating but is clean. The person who said the walk to Tenby was 35 mins must of been crawling on their hands and knees we walked to and from Tenby on thurs night and it took us no more than 15 mins each way. Owners are welcoming and friendly, staff are very polite and helpful breakfast is lovely whatever you chose to have. Will definately go back.
