“fun night out with work colleagues”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2012

Staff very helpful and friendly.
Full cooked breakfast was fab with lots of coffee and juice provided.
room was very clean, basic, but excellant value for money.
Second time we've been here for short break
Excellant location, close to train station, shops bars and restaurants.
Overlooking beach and Caldey Island.
Fun and relaxing venue to meet up with friends and work colleagues.
Hope to return again soon!

The hotel was not good value for money, but do not complain. The manager can get very aggressive if your response to the question "Was everything OK sir?" is "No". When I complained about the sweet wrappers under the bed his response was "Oh so the first thing you do when you get a room is look under the bed". Well Greg, yes it is when you arrive at a place with flaking paint on the window next to the entrance, when there is no reception just an envelope on a desk, when there are large bags of laundry on the first landing, when your room door looks as if it has been forcibly entered and a store cupboard next to it has been hastily boarded over where a fist had been smashed through, when another cleaning room door was wide open to reveal untidiness and another open door revealed an empty bedroom. Not to mention mould in the bathroom. My rating might have been one grade higher if the manager had not been so unhelpful.

Room Tip: Choose another hotel. The manager said we had the best room so I cannot recommend staying here. Actu...

Lets start with positive factors: wonderful panorama, very nice breakfast, well located for both Tenby city center and for beach, but also strategic location to reach most attractions nearby Tenby, parking always available, friendly and young environment...clean in public areas...
Negative: rooms are not cleaned on daily basis....which lead price vs service too high (we paid 100£ for 2ad/1ch....in Paris we spent the same for a 3star TulipInn chain...)

We spent 5 nights in this structure...not sure still how to call it...some sites rate it as an hotel, their website rate as B&B...in italy a structure not daily cleaned, mugs in room not changed, rubbish bin not emptied, beds are not done on daily basis this can be called hostal.

Now beside the above negative aspect, when we arrived we received a warm welcome by a young surfer Manager, which nicely explained all services and recommended some good restaurants in tenby....he also mentioned about "room fully cleaned on wednesday" which didnot happened...and on check-out B&B Manager was not really keen to ask our feedback.

Rooms are very spacious (we were 2 adults, 1 child), nice panorama...photos reflects reality.
is also visible they have been recently remodernated...next investment i would make is on changing doors which are slightly slamming on windy nights.

Staff - seen during breakfast time - are all very friendly and accomodating.
Breakfast is typical english. Starting with a small buffet choice for cereals and drinks, the main courses are à-la-carte, but can be changed upon order and waitress are always happy to meet your requirements. food was good and very well cooked.
Question mark on breakfast is....why we are asked if we want tea or coffee if coffee is istant?? dont we need in both cases hot water?? it might create false expectations....and I agree with another Tripadvisor Contributor "Vole5"...coffee is important....I am fine not to drink a proper espresso in Wales...but at least the american coffee freshly made....

In general public rooms are very clean, and even the room on check-in time...but staying 5 nights and not been cleaned any creates a bit of dissatisfaction.
Recommended for very young people or group of young people, or for short stay (1/ max 2 nights).

Feedback for the Manager: might be a good idea to leave in reception some feedback cards, so that in case you might improve service with your guests inputs.
Your structure has a lot to offer...use all its strenghts

Ideally situated for both the beach and the town. The hotel seemed to be run by a handful of surfy dudes. They were very friendly and the breakfast was great. The rooms however, left alot to be desired, yes it had a fabulous view, but our room was very dirty, especially along the skirting boards, the underside of the patchwork quilt overlay was very stained. The wallpaper was loose in many parts due to damp, it was quite cold and the radiators didnt work, despite the surfy dude telling me the heating came on at 6pm. We stayed for 2 nights and wouldnt have liked to stay one more night. This B&B could be so great, but alot of money would need to be spent to make it so. :(

Room Tip: Room 10 is very damp, not sure about the other rooms.

My daughter, my mum and myself stayed here for 3 nights. We all thought the hotel was in an excellent location for the tourist attractions and for the beach. The room was clean and spacious and breakfast was excellent. The staff were extremly helpful.

This was my first trip to Tenby and couldn't have picked a better place to stay. The guys who run this place were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble, food was excellent, accomodation very clean and comfortable.

The room and view we had was breathtaking and the location extremely handy for everything.

We were on a family holiday as were many of the other redidents and the atmosphere every morning was so warm and welcoming.

Well done to Greg and his wonderful little 'army' of staff, would recommend this b & b and definately go back again. Thanks for a wonderful holiday :)

Chris

Room Tip: go for room 4
