We booked The Giltar Hotel for our wedding on 14th January 2012....and were not dissapointed. The whole day from start to finish was just amazing....the staff were polite, friendly and very attentive and the attention to detail for the wedding decorations was faultless. The hotel was spotless...and our room was fantastic!! Our wedding breakfast, our evening buffet, breakfast the morning after....and Sunday lunch were all delicious. Whether you are looking for a hotel....a wedding venue....or for Sunday Lunch...or for a any special occasion...I would reccommend the Giltar Hotel every time....great staff, great hotel, and fantastic for making your day perfect!!!

On March 10th Ladies Circle hosted a charity lunch at the Giltar Hotel. I cannot thank the staff enough for all of their help, from doing the table plan & place cards and for providing flowers for the tables. The food was superb and the service excellent. A few of the party stayed overnight and had a great stay. I will recommend anyone to hold a function at the Giltar hotel. I personally have been to weddings and evening functions there and never had a bad experience. Thank you

having booked last miniute as a christmas break for me and my partner we were very impressed
with the standard of room.we stayed in a deluxe room with views that did not disapoint.breakfast was hearty, tasty and plenty of choice, all staff was very welcoming and helpful.with only staying 24 hours at this hotel we decided to book our wedding there and then and can honestly say they made our day just perfect, all the effort hard work and little finishing touches they put in place was exceptional, just wish i could relive it again.
we have booked to go back for our anniversary and can not wait!

Room Tip: book a deluxe room and order sunday lunch,it is outstanding!

For the past two years we have stayed at the Giltar for a Saturday in March. This has been for the Sea Cadets District Dinner. Both times we had a Delux room with sea views. Both with luxury en suite's with bath as well as shower. The beds are large and very comfortable and the furniture classic in style with lovely decor. Plenty of storage room, cosy lighting when required to relax, plush carpets. Complimentary shower gel, shampoo and moisturiser. Choice of tea's, coffee and hot chocolate and bottled water. Comfy chairs to relax in and to enjoy the view and also television. Even though these rooms have been refurbished, they still are in keeping with the age and style of this lovely homely hotel.
The meal that evening was lovely and the service was excellent. Polite and cheerful staff who were eager to help. We enjoyed the bar and the disco which is on the lower ground floor. There is a lift, although small, plenty of room for 4 people and their bags.
The following morning we had a full English (Welsh!) breakfast. which again was served quickly and tasted lovely. We thought the sausages were very tasty!
We enjoyed our last 2 stays so much we have booked a Delux Room to celebrate our Silver anniversary in September. The staff at the hotel are always very helpful and friendly and I would be happy to recommend to anyone coming to Tenby.

Room Tip: Push the boat out and get a delux...you won't be dissapointed. But if you bring an i-pod, bring...

Stayed here on the 9th March, having booked well in advanced, however a wedding was booked in and we reckon got the majority of the refurb rooms as what we got resembled fawlty towers, wardrobe that nearly fell on us when we opened the door , see view as long as you stood on a chair and was at least 5'5" tall any shorter and a ladder was needed. beds were clean but old and tired, Bathroom was well appalling, broken toilet pan huge chip out of it health and safety must come into this!!!! bath grubby and not seen wood chip wall paper in years let alone the bathroom, yea a child would have been happy with the size of the bath and the shower scolded you irrelevant of what you did to it, we did feel like we were residents of and old folk's home with the lounge furniture, but in spite of this the staff and food was excellent on this we cannot complain

Room Tip: insist on a refurbished room and don't take no for an answer

We stayed for a wedding and was very disappointed with our room as we paid £80 p/n for a twin room. Although it had a sea view the room was old looking with worn looking furniture. We had the pleasure of a bar chair in our room which didn't quite fit in with the old style decor and filled what was already a very small room. It reminded me of a retirement home!! The walls needed painting and there were two visible holes in the wall that had been filled but not painted over. The walls were paper thin as we listened to snoring for the best part of our first nights stay. The curtains were old looking and not easy to close of an evening. The bathroom was clean but very small with the old fashioned shower head and plastic shower curtain. If you are larger than a size 14 ladies you will struggle in the very small bath!! The MDF bath panel was paint chipped and not very nice as the sealant around the floor edge was peeling away. The 'off blue color' sani-flow system in a supposedly white bathroom made it look un-appealing to say the least. The doors are old fashioned with original paint covered handles and shoodily painted. The carpet wasslighlty warn throughout hotel. Admittedly they are going through a refurb at the moment and I was obviously unlucky with my particular room. The downstairs of the hotel is decorated to a good standard and the staff were polite. A 10% deposit was verbally offered to all wedding guest staying but was never given unless you faught tooth and nail for it!!!!! Most guests were told that they already had a discounted room rate although when you book on line they did not know you were with the wedding party so not sure how they applied the invisible 10 % discount. Would not recommend to others as the only excellent point of our stay was the view.

Room Tip: Ask for a recently refurbished room but make sure all appliances (shower, hairdryer) work!
