“Great stay! Shame about other guests.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

I stayed with my partner in April 2013, we only stayed for 1 night but have been looking forward to making another trip. I booked the room i think it was called a deluxe suite(with a spa bath). On arrival we were met by the owner Marion, she was immediately friendly and joking with us. As we had a spa bath we were asked straight away not to use it after 10 as it makes a bit of noise, sadly our neighbours who also had a spa hadn't listened and used theirs until gone midnight. The bed was huge and comfortable with plenty of pillows and fitted in with the decor. I have read a few negative reviews on here, i would just say my experience was almost perfect, i was worried as i booked through laterooms about complications so phoned the hotel direct to confirm weeks in advance and a few days ahead of setting off. The hotel is a nice distance from tenby and although a little more pricey, you do get what you pay for.

Room Tip: Deluxe room was just perfect, it looks out over a sports field.

It should be pointed out that while the hotel states that it's 'dog friendly', what that actually means is that dogs have the run of the entire hotel.

No sooner had we arrived we checked out - and were refused any type of refund or compensation. I love dogs, but this was ridiculous. To add to this the room was claustrophobic, and when we were shown to our room it hadn't been serviced, in general the place was grubby, not at all aided by the 'wet dog smell' which was through the furniture and carpet.

Not family friendly and frankly a little dangerous to those with children under 5.

The good thing about the Red Rooster B&B in Tenby is the fact that you have free parking and it is very quiet around. It not far to the town centre but it is still a 15min walk.
The negative points are (at least were for us) the room that 'smelt humid', lights in the room that were switching on when you moved (a bit disturbing at night), expensive breakfast option and not being in the town centre or anywhere near the beach.

We have recently been to the Pembrokeshire coast and stayed at a total of 6 B & B's. Red Rooster Rest was the most expensive and by far the worst. We stayed two nights. The first morning the proprietor had forgotten we had booked bed and breakfast, so couldn't really cater for us for breakfast! We did get breakfast the 2nd day, but instead of a nice cafetiere of coffee (as provided at every other place we went to) we had half a cup of caramel coffee!! When we said we just couldn't drink it, two half teaspoons of instant coffee went into a pot! Couldn't drink that either! Also other aspects were not good enough for what is described by the proprietor as 'superior' accommodation. Not impressed at all.

Our room was in the main house. It was very small , claustrophobic and fussily decorated, and with a very large bed, There was only just room for two small chairs, a bedside cabinet, a chest of drawers and a small table with a TV on it.
The tea making tray was dangerously placed on the bedside cabinet and we had to move it to a safer place. The one bedside lamp was perched on the tallboy which meant that I had to actually get out of bed to switch it off. The clutter on the bed made a pile nearly 4ft high in the wardrobe! The bathroom had a wooden folding door (with obscured perpex panels) which didn't fit properly, it meant that going to the toilet was very embarrassing. The door to the room was glass panneled with a bit of a net curtain - not very private. We would not go there again

Having booked a room online stating I would be arriving at 7pm I was stunned when I received a phone call from the owner as I was pulling into the hotel. I was told that there was no longer a room available for me as a customer had arrived off the street and my room had been given to them. The lady on the phone was unapologetic and rather rude and said that she had not seen my booking. To me if you accept online bookings the system should be checked more than once day. Very disappointing

We had a wonderful 2 night stay. Marion the Owner was friendly and very hospitible. She has ensured that her guests get the best and made us feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. A lovely lady, a beautiful room with spa bath and only a short walk into Tenby. Will definately return. Thank you Marion for making our weekend so lovely. Steve and Eiona
