“From the moment we arrived - A wonderfully relaxing stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

The new owners of this hotel went out of their way to make us feel as comfortable as can be. We really enjoyed their friendly company. The hotel is in a beautiful and tranquil location with panoramic views along the coast. We stayed for three days and had time to explore one of the most scenic parts of the Country. We had breakfast and dinner in the hotel and the quality of the food was exceptional. Service was extremely polite and very friendly. No hesitation in giving this hotel a great recommendation. We look forward to returning as soon as we can.

This hotel is runned by an enthousiastic family and is nicely located in a quiet area not far from Tenby city, a small but friendly place. A beautiful 30 minutes walk over the beach to Tenby.
The rooms and beds are good en the atmosphere is nice.
The kitchen is good and you have a nice garden with a lot of space for a quiet stay.

Room Tip: The best place to stay is in the main building to the south.

We stayed one night in a lovely large room with antique furniture and a wonderful view across to the sea. The bed was very comfortable indeed. The evening meal was a pleasant suprise - very good food. The house white was a delicious Colombard. Breakfast was also very good. The hotel itself is very quiet and relaxing, with a lovely reading room and bar area, and an elegant garden. The hosts were friendly and welcoming. The restaurant too was very pleasant. You can also wander down to the nearby beach and walk to Tenby. We hope to return.

Stayed 3 enjoyable nights. Very comfortable room with sea views, very clean, towels were changed daily. Were made very welcome by everybody who were friendly at all times and never too busy to stop and chat and prepared to go the extra mile if required. Food very good. Would certainly recommend and we hope to return. Only downside from a personal point of view was the bath itself in room 8, it was very rounded and didn't have a flat bottom so did not feel too safe in it and there was nothing to hold on to, shower itself was very good.

We popped in for morning coffee with friends and were really impressed with the gorgeous garden, lovely lounge room and the helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel very welcome despite only having coffee and cakes. I could see that there was some renovation work going on and the new owners are making huge efforts to update some aspects of the hotel. But they don't need to change the ambience - the views, the tranquility, the lovely old building and the proximity to Tenby. I wouldn't hesitate to eat here or book a few nights stay when back in the Pembroke area.

Stayed here with my partner for a couple of night ...the location is charming... The rooms beautiful and the staff are just the best I've found in the uk.. This hotel had just been taken over by new owners and they really went that extra mile to make sure we where happy in see in of our stay....the room it's self had a fantastic sea view.. The bath was just brilliant and very nice and the bedroom quite large and beautiful room all round... If you want good discreet quality service ... In a wonderful hotel this is the place for you in Tenby ... We ate breakfast and dinner here and both were just outstanding ...I truly can't fault anything about this hotel at all..truly blissful... I will be back late December and I can't wait...this is the top of the top in west wales..best prices and deals on the hotels direct website :-)... Room tip room 9 has a wonderful sea view from the bedroom and a lovely view out over the garden from the bathroom :-)... Highly recommend this place to everyone

We stayed here for 2 nights - one room with a sea view and one room at the rear. The family who run this hotel have only just taken over and they are doing a very good job. The hotel itself is a lovely old building and both of our rooms were very comfortable - full of character although in need of a little TLC especially in the bathrooms. The owners mentioned that there will be some refurbishment during the winter months and they also hope to have a more reliable internet connection which is sorely needed.
The standard of meals in the restaurant was a pleasant surprise, we had very good meals on both nights whilst the breakfast was first class. – good choice, good ingredients and
well cooked. All the staff were friendly and helpful but the two who stood out were the lady who served breakfast and the waitress who recommended a visit to Caldey Island and loves their white chocolate – they were first class!! Some hotels are not that "comfortable" this hotel most definitely is with fantastic sea views and is a very relaxing place to stay. We would happily return.

Room Tip: Sea view ones have to be the best!

Penally Abbey is a small Country House Hotel and Restaurant situated in an elevated position, adjacent to the the 12th Century church in the pretty floral village of Penally.Penally, is only 1.5mls from the beautiful medieval walled town of Tenby with its cobbled streets, ancient ramparts, picturesque harbour, and long sandy beaches in the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coastal National Park. The 'Abbey' is pretty rather than grand. The rooms are beautifully proportioned and sympathetically decorated and furnished to compliment the style of the building. Unusual features are the large ogee head doors and windows through which one can see views of Tenby Golf Course, Caldey Island and across the bay toward the Gower peninsular. We serve unpretentious food in beautiful surroundings. Our staff are friendly but not too intrusive. Our rooms are warm, clean and comfortable. We are only 800yds from Tenby's South Beach. But most importantly we offer the warmest welcome in Wales. ... more   less
