we rang the Abbey at 11 am and booked it then stepped into the beautiful room at 2pm......... real spur of the moment stuff, was a beautiful day and we wanted 2 b near the beach.

We were greeted like old friends even tho we had never been b4, were shown around the Abbey taken 2 our room and drank a complimentary sherry!!!!! The room was old, quaint but beautifully presented including the 7ft bed!!

Breakfast was amazing but rushed as we had 2 head off unexpectedly. One thing about this place......... enjoy the grounds, enjoy the sound of shingle under your shoes, enjoy the ambience and everything else Penally has 2 offer....enjoy....we did.

I can't begin to say how fab the hotel is, I have stayed in numerous 4/5 star hotels throughout the world and this hotel rates amongst the best. I stayed at the hotel with my brother as we were doing a surprise 70th Birthday for our Mum, however I wish I'd been there for a romantic weekend as the hotel would have been perfect . The staff were outstanding and couldn't do enough to help without being over-bearing. The food was out of this world and so beautifully presented. If you stay at hotel you must have dinner in the candlelit restaurant, it is a real experience (the rosemary mashed potato was stupendous). I had a quick peek at the visitors book before leaving the hotel and all I could see were rave reviews and I would whole heartedly agree with them.

I took my boyfriend here for his birthday. We had a fab time!!! The staff were so friendly, our room was beautiful with stunning views of the sea and the golf course. We were very impressed by the decanter of complimentary sherry in the room! We stayed in the superior double room which was large with a massive comfy bed, sofa, TV and big windows. We had dinner at the hotel too which was yummy - would recommend. Breakfast was included.

The hotel is close to the beach and coastal cliff walking paths, the scenery is magnificent. There are two local pubs close by

It was well worth the money and I would go back there.

Before arriving at the Hotel we went to a place called Heatherton, which is an activity centre. It sounds a little lame but my boyfriend and I had the best time there!!! We went go-karting, played 18 hole crazy golf, did some archery, tried out baseball and shot at some targets. They also have indoor bowls, horse riding, robot wars, laser clay pigoen shooting, fishing and a pitch & putt golf area. It was reasonably priced and lots of fun!

During my stay at Penally Abbey we visited a spa in the next town along called Celtic Haven. We were disappointed with our experience there. The treaments were average, the walls were very thin so you couldn't relax properly during the treatment as you would hear everything go on around you. The pool, hot tub & changing rooms were filthy & disgusting. On complaining to the manager I found her to be rude and unhelpful.

We stayed at the Penally Abbey just for two nights, and it was very enjoyable. The staff were polite and friendly, the rooms were spotless and the bedding was first class with nice duvets and covers. The food was fabulous, with a good choice of menu. The position of the hotel is good, and you could walk to Tenby along the beach.
I would recommend this hotel in every way. More suitable to the more mature traveller, this hotel is ideal for a relaxing quiet break in a lovely area, ideal for exploring the area.
