My husband and I stayed at Elm Grove for a birthday weekend in September. What a gem - it's marked as a 3* but the friendly service, rooms and atmosphere deserve far more. The hotel is still family run (for the last 40 yrs or so) so there is a lovely friendly, relaxed feel to the place. The breakfast we had each morning set us up for the rest of the day with the full breakfast being cooked to order and not put on a hot buffet as with more and more hotels these days. The choice of food for dinner was not extensive but it was excellent and very substantial.
The hotel is surrounded by large lawns, orchards and fields with a drive leading down to the village, which has 2 pubs, a lovely church and a well stocked village shop. Tenby and other fabulous beaches are around 4 miles away, which is great if you want to escape the traffic in tenby.
The hotel also has self catering cottages and although we didn't stay in them we did have a sneak peak when they were cleaning them and they are huge, with new kitchens and large rooms.
I would have no hesitation in going back to Elm Grove or recommending it to friends.
