What a great site and location the staff were friendly Damion and Lynn made us all feel very welcome. The food at the surf shack was good as was the bingo and quiz nights. We were camping, there were a lot of people on site but the noise levels were very good everything seemed to go quiet at 11pm. The facilities were basic but very clean showers were warm. There was electric points in the showers and WiFi if you needed it. There is a small children arcade which my children loved . You can store your frozen food in the freezer and there is a washing machine and dryer on site.

We attended the site and found it well located for local features and attractions. This is a fabulous part of the UK and well worth a visit. The campsite was well laid out. The facilities were poor: the gents toilets had faeces on the cubical walls, one of the WCs was out of order and filthy, strewn with toilet roll for the week we were there. The showers were only just warm and were unclean. It would seem it both facilities the floors are mopped but little else is done. Like the previous reviewer we had items stolen whilst camping, experienced unaccountable aggression from other campers and suffered very noisy neighbours, with camp staff being lovely but useless at resolving our issues. On the site were a semi-permanent Irish traveller family. They were friendly, as were the many who visited them, but the generator was loud as were the occasional arguments they had over mobile telephones. Seagulls visited early each morning with a lot of noise. The games room is a broken shack with only gambling machines available for the children - it looked like a safety nightmare! We won't be returning to this site, but the area is great and offers many other choices for camping.

We spent a week at Buttyland with some friends and all our children. The location is pleasant, and the grass well kept with a good open space for children to play. Facilities are basic, but the Ladies toilets were spotless throughout our stay. The " room" is a joke.

Unfortunately our stay was spoilt by two unsavoury incidents.

First our freezer blocks were stolen from the communal freezer, and on reporting this we were assured that things never got stolen here. No offer was made at the time to replace them, or even to replace the £2 name tag.

Secondly our children found some toys buried in the hedgerow and, assuming they had been abandoned by a departing family some time ago, played with them. It turns out that they had been reported stolen from another family on the site and deliberately hidden, and worse still, the man to whom they belonged waited until we were out and then came and trashed our stuff.

There were a number of upset and concerned eye witnesses, yet the owner was unwilling to instigate any action, even when we pointed out that this man's behaviour was violent and unreasonable.

When we expressed (politely) our dissatisfaction with his response to both incidents, he became quite argumentative and agressive towards us.

Whilst management clearly cannot know in advance the clientele they are accommodating, we feel strongly that they have a responsibility to ensure the safety and security of the people on their campsite, and in this instance they failed to do so.

We only stopped at this campsite for 3 nights and i'm glad about that. The fields are actually in very good condition and the views from the campsite are good as well so the setting is great. We stayed in a tent and payed £24 per night which is rather average for a campsite in Pembrokeshire.

I'll now move on to the campsites bad points which are firstly it seemed a bit gypsy, the washing facilities were right outside of the toilets, there was only one sink in the toilets and they're in need of refurbishment, last but not least the arcade is a shed and just has a load of rubbish inside of it. My final bad point for this campsite are the showers and its a major bad point, when you've been on the beach all day getting covered in sun cream, salt and sand all you want is a nice warm shower when you get back, in this case you got a freezing shower in what was pretty much a toilet cubicle. The shower cubicles are tiny, there is nowhere to put your towel and clothes. There was a notice on the door which said 'showers may be cold when all three are in use' this was complete rubbish as me, my brother and my uncle were in all three showers so we tested it, we turned two off and just had one on, the one that was on was just as freezing as before.

My conclusion is that there are much better campsites in pembrokeshire than this one, I actually felt conned when I left this campsite because I had payed £24 a night to someone who wouldn't even turn the boiler on.

Firstly the Pros

nice open camping field for kids to play.

that was quick for the pros.

secondly the cons.

Games room or aka portacabin with rotten floor and 2 fruit machines 2 grab machines and pinball table full of stones.

Bar, did not venture to this bar.

no shop, had to drive to Jameston to get supplies.

mens showers, 3 of them for a site with 300+ people, wash basins where you need to be an octopus to use and boiler not able to cope with the demand and runs cold after 30 mins use by people before hand.

Toilets, 4 cubicles for men and 2 urinals. 2 cubicles didnt flush properly and had to flush 3 or 4 times.

Plate washing: 2 sinks again for hundreds of people, some days the queue was 10 families deep.

Water points. not sure they have heard of drains as the water just seems to flow onto the grass to create the somme.

Other.

even with a park with so many people and kids, all families stuck to the rules and were quiet after midnight, normally quiet by 11 which is good for a nice nights sleep.

this park has the potential to be a great little park, the location is wonderfull and with a little TLC and planning the park could be great..

create a proper games room, a small shop a second toilet/shower block and 2nd plate washing site, put some drains in and bam,,, good little park.

ive been camping for years and i know camping is not luxury but come on buttyland sort it out.

We have just returned today from the fantastic Butty Land campsite where me, my boyfriend and Molly our dog have enjoyed a fantastic holiday. We spent 6 days at the campsite all of which were blessed with gorgeous weather which you can enjoy in the open fields of the resort. The staff at Butty Land were all helpful, friendly and easy to find if you needed them. We found the facilities on site basic but clean and everything we needed was there.
The highlight of the campsite for us was being able to let Molly have space to run around off the lead. As she is well behaved the site staff were happy for her to not be tied up.
There is a beautifull beach about 10-15 mins walk from the site and a very short drive to either fresh water east or tenby for more great beaches!!
We loved this campsite and will deffinatley return in the future!

I stayed on this site recently with two other couples, all having young children.

Where do I start?

1. Toilet conditions - dirty all of the time, the idea of cleaning seemed to be to pour a bucket of water on the floor and let it dry.
2. Two urinals and three male sit down toilets for the whole site.
3. Showers, very small, if anything is inside the shower area, expect it to get wet. Also, unless you have tiny shoulders, don't expect to turn around in there. Lack of anywhere to hang anything including washbag. Another treat in store if you use the third shower on the right (again only three to cover whole site), expect to be standing in other peoples shower water as they all go to the drain in this shower, this is particularly nice if somebody has bypassed the toilets and peed in the shower. Choose your shower time wisely, as hot water is hit and miss.
4. Push button taps - these stay on one second at most, so you have to be a magician to be able to wash your face without keeping one of your hand on the tap. No plugs. You also have to guess which tap is which, for some reason all taps appear to be marked as the hot tap.
5. Games room - this is an old portakabin which looks like it need to be condemned
6. Electric hookup - This is a 6 amp supply, so if you need to use electrics, expect to be going back and forth to reset the box.
7. Water Supply - Tap in the middle of the field, which empties onto two bricks, this creates a lovely muddy puddle, if like my son you watch peppa pig, then expect them to get muddy.
8. Being in the Waste Management industry, I was quite surprised to see them burning their site waste in an old skip, I am sure the EA would have something to say about this. If the owners are reading this, I suggest you stop this immediately.

With more and more people holidaying in the Uk and spending a lot more money on camping equipment, we expect standards to be better, basics such as plenty of clean toilets / washing facilities are a must. This site is basic and outdated, unless you are the type of camper who just likes camping in a field, I would suggest looking elsewhere in Tenby.
