We went to Ilfracombe aquarium with our 2 1/2 year old granddaughter. She is just starting to be at that discovery & question stage so we thought it would be a good place to take her for an hour or so.
We were not disappointed. Although small the aquarium follows a theme that goes from the streams in the hills, down the river, into the bay, the coast & then the sea.
All the tanks are well laid out & easy to access, they even gave us a step for our granddaughter to use. Steve who looks after the aquarium is a friendly & very knowledgeable chap & will explain as much or as little as you want him too.
There are also lots of notice boards with loads of info on them.
a great place to go for the smaller kids, but as it is small teenagers will get bored quickly as its is small (although they do have plans to expand next door in the future).
Great on a wet afternoon or when you have finished looking around Ilfracombe harbour/or boat trip.
