“Haunting stories on beautiful surroundings!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2013

Visited Chambercombe Manor while camping in Devon last week. The setting, location and building is very picturesque.
Our tour was very informative and historical, but we were told a few stories along the way which really paint an eerie picture! I've retold the stories to friends since and it intrigues me every time! This is an experience worthwhile and the volunteers here are knowledgeable and kind; it's obvoous they care about what they do. I sat in the chair of a famous wrecker and peered through the doorway of a hidden room!
There's a cafe which offers a small selection of yummy food, including cream tea, lunchtime favourites and an enticing 'specials' board!
All in all, a lovely time spent learning and imagining! I didn't see any ghosts first-hand but had a great afternoon!

“Ghostly Goings on In Beautiful Manor”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2013

It was a rainy day on camp, 31st July 2013 - so four of us trotted off to Chambercombe Manor. The House was stunning, and the guides very informative _ I would also recommend talking to the Gift shop attendant, who is very passionate about the area, with plenty of stories to share. Interested in Ghosts or history - this place is full of both. The Café was delightful, a very honest and simple menu that will not disappoint, and great value too. This is also a voluntary run establishment, which adds to the friendliness and personality of the experience. A lovely relaxing day. (one point to mention - this is an old listed building dating back to the Doomsday Book - so it is not very accessible for wheelchairs etc)

“Chambercombe Manor”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2013

My family and I visited Chambercombe Manor on 30th July 2013. The history of this manor is so interesting, we were all enthralled by the information that our very good tour guide gave us. She was also very patient at answering questions. The grounds are beautiful in a very informal way and very peaceful to walk around.

“Really interesting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013 via mobile

A very old house with a fascinating history. Our guide was excellent and although I didn't pay much heed to the ghost stories there was still a lot of interesting things to hear about the house. Very pretty garden too.
Didn't go near the cafe as it looked quite dingy with a suspiciously limited and cheap menu.
