“Below par”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

Having been recommended to try the Ilfracombe Fryer we couldn't wait to go. What a disappointment, The chips were not hot and the fish average tasting but top marks for the number of bones in the 'fillet'. The staff struggled to get our order correct (only 3 of us) and we constantly had to go to the counter to collect / complete our order. The staff appeared to be totally disinterested in us and the other clients. Perhaps the monkeys and peanuts scenario should be applied!! I'm sure that better fish and chips & at a lower price must be available nearby.

A great place to eat, very clean and smart. The staff were great and helpful. A good and varied menu. The food was cooked to perfection and generous portions.

“The Best Fish n Chips”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2013

I had fish n chips, very fresh cod, my husband had chicken, chips & side salad. The waitress and service were second to none so friendly without being over bearing, but the "fish n chips" were just "superb" best I have ever had, no bones, no skin and NO oozing fat and the chips were crispy too a very fulfilling meal at an affordable price. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his meal too! We would thoroughly recommend this fish restaurant and definitely look forward to going again when in the area!?
