My partner and I saw the advert for this hotel in a magazine and the "deal" of 5 nights dinner, bed and breakfast for £139 was too good to miss.

Having never been in this area before we were looking forward to it and were not disappointed. The room was lovely and clean with the towels changed every day. The dinner was lovely and we were spoilt for choice every night. The breakfast was also very good.

Staff also could not have been more helpful.

We hope to return to this hotel in the near future.

Have stayed at the Star on a few occasions and the value and service are superb. Breakfasts are a joy with a wide range to choose from. Evening meals are delicious,again with a wide choice.Thursday evenings are not to be missed with the piping of the haggis a real highland tradition. Shall be looking to return again in September 2oo7,as this is a great base for discovering and playing all the hidden gems of golf course which this region offers.

We are just back from our long weekend stay at the Star Hotel. We were there for a family birthday celebration and had an excellent weekend.

Ok, so the decor is not the most modern, but we found the accommodation to be spotlessly clean, tidy and functional. Towels were changed and the room was "made up" every day. We have stayed in nice hotels in other places which had fancy bathrooms and showers etc but nothing beats good old fashioned cleanliness and functionality and thats what you get at the Star Hotel.

We found one of the highlights to be the quality of the meals served. Each night had 3 courses and a couple of dishes to choose from in each section. Then there was the highland banquet, which, if you like haggis, was very good. Even if you don't, having it piped into the restaurant is still very entertaining!! The meals we had were extremely tasty and well cooked. The staff serving the meals were first class and couldn't be more helpful. Breakfast was traditional fayre of cereals, fruit & juices and cooked options and cannot be faulted.

We didn't bother with the in house entertainment, instead choosing to sit in the bar with a few drinks and we found this to be very reasonably priced also.

Overall, the quality of service, food and accommodation here is superb. Nice touches like a birthday card on the table from the management & staff on our birthday girl's special night. We will most definitely be returning to the Star Hotel.

Just back from our twelth visit to the Star Hotel. Such a fun stay again!!
We just booked for the Easter weekend and ended up extending our holiday at the Star for the rest of the week.
Food better than ever, staff friendly, rooms well-cleaned and fresh towels every day.
The approachable staff and the friendly entertainers seem to create an atmosphere in which all their guests meet and mingle. Staying at the Star is like staying with one big happy family.
The Star would not benefit from modernisation. It's a fine old institution in an otherwise changing world. We've made many new friends during our visits to Kingussie.
What's more, last week, the sun shone in the Highlands every single day.
