Me and my wife were in the area for the Runrig concert at Scone Palace, and this hotel was the only thing we could get within 15 miles of the venue.
Price was a little over our normal budget (£89 for a double room) but beggars can not be choosers.
We live 90 miles from Blairgowrie, so set off at 10am.... driving through Glasgow I get a message on my phone saying if I do not call them straight away they were going to cancel my booking.... but a phonecall sorted that out.
Arrived at the hotel, and waited almost 10 minutes for someone to show up at reception to check us in!!!!! (I had to walk through to the bar next door and get someone to come to let us in).
Hotel itself is very nice (typical highlands village, tartan carpeted type place) and clean, and the rooms are named after Royal Golf Corses (we were in Muirfield, but would have prefered Troon!).
Rooms are spacious and very clean, and with the hotel right on the main street of Blairgowrie, there was next to noise off the street... only problem was there is a pipe or something behind the wall which must connect the toilets on the top floor, and during the night, every so often there would be this VERY loud flowing water sound that lasted for 2 or 3 minutes, but was enough to wake you up.
If anything, this was the only draw back of the hotel!
The bar area is really chilled and relaxed athmosphere, with drinks reasonably priced.
Breakfast was a feast.... starter of cereals, then a freshly cooked Full Scottish Breakfast, with Coffee and Juice on the side.
All in all, one of these hotels which are enjoyable to stay in, but can not see myself staying in again.
