“Excellent Meal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

I was taken to the Old Cross by a friend who had been raving about the food for ages. Our lunch was lovely. Good choice of courses lovely fresh food. The banoffi pie was one of the best I have ever eaten. Looking forward to going back. Parking right at the door.

We have visited The Old Cross Inn restaurant on a good few occasions now and have never been disappointed by the quality and value for money of the food and the wonderful menu selection. It is always fresh and hot and pleasantly presented. Thank you Liam and your team, we would happily recommend you to any visitor to Blaprgowrie

I stayed at the Old Cross for one night after a very long day travelling up from Bristol to buy a local pony. The welcome was warm & genuine, they could not have been more helpful, even allowing me to use their phone as I had no signal ! The room was large, clean, nicely decorated, very comfortable and had everything I needed for an undisturbed nights sleep with some thoughtful touches, toiletries etc. Breakfast was the best bit, well cooked, good quality local ingredients, hot and lovely fresh pots of coffee. It is the perfect place for a very reasonable priced holiday base or stopover, this really is a very beautiful part of Scotland. Thank you Liam & Ann, I am only sorry my stay was so brief !

We have been coming to eat here about once a year for the last few years during our holidays. The welcome which we received from the owner was both warm and welcoming and this year was no exception. The owner remembers us each year and it really makes a difference to the atmosphere of the place.

This year we booked a table for 7 of us for mine and my husbands 1st wedding anniversary. One of our party was in a wheel chair but the restaurant was fully accessible and a ramp was provided. The only disappointment was that they had run out of some of the items off the menu that were wanted by our party but the host was very apologetic and alternative items were chosen. The food is locally sourced, tasty and good value for money! Highly recommended.

This was very last minute and proved a real find. The immediate surroundings are a little disappointing as you approach but the moment you walk in the door it's very welcoming and relaxing . The staff were great and very friendly . The food was very good and nice breakfasts too. Pleasant local real ale. They have made a real effort with the decor which is comfortable and stylish.
The room was lovely , very comfortable bed , lovely sheets , pillows , cushions and a sofa too. The ensuite shower room was very clean and looked new with plenty of room . I wish we could have stayed longer really , it was very relaxing . We would certainly go again !

We spent a weekend here and were very impressed. It's about a mile out of the tourist centre, but is an excellent base from which to explore the area. The staff were friendly and the room spacious, well equipped and comfy. The shower worked well. The bar is as you'd expect in a local pub and very lively (till quite late on a Friday, but noise was not a problem upstairs). What makes this place special, however, is the food. The Scottish breakfast is excellent and everything we tried off the dinner menu or Specials board was superb. Why go into town, when there's a huge selection to savour in house? We will be back!

Booked this as a stop off on the way up north. Nice rooms with a lively bar and good food. Rooms where nicely decorated with a very clean Bathroom.

We had room one that was at the front of the building, very nice for the money. Only down fall was the noise from the bar, but it did stop at 23:00.

Room Tip: Room 1 was very nice, however there was a lot of noise from the bar till it closed at 23:00
