“A Scrappers Paradise !!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2009

We (3 other mad scrappers/crafters) and myself spent a weekend at South Littleton in October 2008, staying in the Hayloft. They hayloft has been converted to an exceptionally high standard with a double bedroom on the ground floor and a triple room on the top - a sofa bed in the living room gives an extra sleeping place if needed. It has a fully fitted kitchen, 2 bathrooms (one with bath and the upstairs one a shower) and ample space to spread yourself out in comfortably - everything you could ever need is provided including plenty of storage too. Every detail has been thought of when converting the building and it has been finished to an exceptionally high standard.
The ajoining studio for crafters is amazing......just what you wished you could have in your own home. We were all jealous of Hazels haven! Every tool you would need is there and you can have full use of them - we did bring a few of our own just incase, but it wasnt necessary. It seats 4 comfortably with plenty space to keep your stash, trolleys and crafty bits with you. Perfect!
David and Hazel are perfect hosts. They are very warm and friendly people and are always on hand to help with anything.
We loved it so much we have booked to go back again in March this year.....we cant wait.

We (3) have just returned to Australia from the UK. We had a wonderful 4 day break at the Bothy - the smaller of the cottages, both of which are double storey and well furnished. Hazel and David are truly considerate hosts and we were greeted with a selection of local produce to whet our appetite for a Scottish holiday. Nearby Blairgowrie is truly quaint but does contain a very useful Tescos for those self catering. This is not hard at the Bothy because you have everything you need on hand. Eating out is a bit expensive in the UK.
The cottages are in a great position for a bit of exploring and during our stay we had a trip to Edinburgh (amazing place), one to Pitlochry - home to the smallest whiskey distillery in Scotland, one to nearby Perth and Dunkeld and a short trip to Glamis Castle (mentioned in Macbeth and childhood home of the Queen Mum). Hazel helped us plan our excursions and we came back in love with the beautiful Scottish countryside. You need your winter woolies outside but inside it is very cosy in the cottages. Looking at the Hayloft before we went we could appreciate the extra room and it can accommodate 7 at a pinch - so maybe we will bring more of the family next time!

  • Liked — the hosts, the cosiness, the position for exploring
  • Disliked — the living areas were upstairs
