“awful experience”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2014

Sadly I had a horrible stay here. The bed was lumpy with springs coming through, had to use the quilt to lye on, but was still really uncomfy. It was freezing , I asked for the heating to be put on , I was told it only came on at night. The walls are really paper thin, I was woken very early 5am, by lots of noise, when I mentioned it to the owner, she was nasty and confrontational, told me I was the one with the problem. then she went for a cigarette in the kitchen to calm herself down. I couldnt wait to get out of there. Also worth remembering that you have to fit your arrival times around her school run. Very satisfactory for long term contractors, but if on holiday, I advise stay somewhere else for a more nicer experience and less expense.

Our stay here was very good. The staff were absolutely lovely and made us feel at home the moment we walked through the door. We also had a slight problem with our booking (nothing to do with the bnb) when we arrived and they did everything they could to make it right for us. When we were shown to our room we were very pleased. Very spacious, very clean and nicely decorated. We were particularly happy with the amount of mirrors provided, as you can imagine us girls need them when getting ready for a night out! We also had a peaceful nights sleep when we eventually arrived back! The breakfast was delicious and cooked perfectly to our liking! Thank you for creating such a great experience for us. Would definitely return!

Nada and Sarah, Sheffield.

i stopped here while we was doing the great north run. We had three rooms which were all good sizes n deciorated good. The shared bathrooms was very clean and very modern. I was on the top floor room 11 and it was really big. The breakfat was really good, because everyone was doing the run the owners put porridge, fruit and cereal on for us. Ther next day i had a full english which was very nice. The metro station is about two minutes away so is all the pubs and nightlife. Overall great bnb in a great location with very friensly people who run. I would certainly recommend to others. The only thing is not ensuite but some riooms do have ensuites.

Just back from the great north run weekend and stayed at the chedburgh hotel our son was running in the event. This hotel is an old hand at looking after the runners and family breakfast was very good full English if you wanted porridge for the runners it was done what ever was needed. Very close to the metro which was great and the sea front for the sea air. Will be back thank you for looking after us so well Sandra and family.

I made a last minute booking about four hours before we arrived in Newcastle without really knowing what to expect and I can only say we couldn't have been luckier! Thankfully, the hotel is very close to the metro station, so we didn't have to walk around with our heavy luggage for too long. Our room was lovely, there was a TV, a sink and even a kettle plus hot chocolate, tea and coffee. The breakfast was lovely, it was homemade and I could even ask for a vegetarian option. We weren't so lucky with the weather, but it was still nice to take a walk at the beach and there is a nice little park nearby as well. The staff were very friendly, too, which made our stay even better.
And even though our room was on the top floor, we had a good WiFi connection.
Needless to say, we were very satisfied and I can only recommend this hotel to anyone, I would definitely like to come back soon.

Just stayed here for a stag weekend. Made to feel welcome and for the money o.k.Breakfast nice and not lots of rules and regulations. Close to all amenities. Good value for money.Be aware though double beds in some rooms so have to sleep together. Have to pay 20 pounds deposit/security.Whitley Bay getting run down though-we went to Tynemouth and busier and better pubs. Weatherspoons Fire station nearby and amazing deals on drinks and food. Had fun.Thank You.....
