We have just returned from a few days at the Hillrest and were welcomed and treated like old friends. Aurea is a terrific cook and I could have lived on her breakfasts! All the food is organic and the juice is freshly squeezed with different combinations of fruit according to taste - I'd forgotten how delicious home cooking is as I usually dash in from work to a grilled chop - but I have been inspired by Aurea to slow down and enjoy the experience. She even gave me some receipes and tips to get me started.
The decor is so not IKEA! - lovingly furnished in a way that combines homeliness with a kind of opulence - the main problem wasn't settling in but having to leave!
I briefly met her husband who was also friendly and welcomng - he is an acupuncturist and advisor on nutrition - I shall have to book him up in advance when I stay next time as he was so busy he couldnt fit me in. I'd love to try acupuncture and I could certainly do with some advice on nutrition - between them I think Aurea and her husband could sort me out! Somebody needs to.....
I really would recommend this fabulous retreat, far away from the pressures of city living - right near the sea too - bliss.
