“A great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2008

If you are thinking of visiting the Isle of Man, you'll find no better place to stay than at the Albany House.

When we made an enquiry online, I mentioned my wife was a Vegan and the next day recieved a phone call from Nikki asking what would be suitable for breakfast. We also recieved a guide book and a few leaflets in the post when I mentioned we hadn't visited the island before.

We arrived to a warm welcome from the propreitors, who were only to happy any queries and silly questions we had, and gave us excellent advice regarding places to visit and where to eat.

Our room was exquisite and the service at breakfast was exemplary. It's a shame we couldn't have stayed longer.

I stayed here for a night and found the hosts Nikki and Nigel very chatty and friendly. The B&B has plenty of character and charm, and the room I stayed in was very well appointed and comfortable. The breakfast is also excellent. I would definitely recommend this B&B.

Stayed in Peel at the Albany House.
The place was just great for a B&B, in fact the hosts Nikki and Nigel were wonderful as well.
Peel is on the south West of the IOM and is frankly a bit quiet (which we like).
albany house is just a couple of huundred yards from everything-
beach pubs restuarants & less than 1/2 mile from the harbour and castle
Nigel is the catering prof fessional and Nikki looks after the hotel side of things. both very attentive and interesting hosts who know their way around the world (and a bottle of wine)
Albany House only has 3 bedrooms but each is furnished to a very high standard, and has very nice touches such as quality towels /bathrobes / stacks of tourist info. Nigel does great breakfasts.
We really enjoyed staying here.
tip;- get bus from stop 20 yards away to Glen Maye and Nairbyl (where "Waking Ned" was filmed). its beautiful.

The Facilities were excellent, The bedrooms (I stayed in the Osborne)I cannot fault, had everything you needed, Tea Coffee, Television, En-suite Shower, Towels changed every other day. Food was excellent..Breakfast you had a choice pick what you wanted and you could have it...Nikki and Nigel who own the hotel are great..really helpful..

My partner and I stayed in Albany hse last week as we were over for the IOM TT racing. We visited the island last year ,me first time and i liked PEEL so much that we decieded to stay there this year.
We certainly landed on our feet with our choice of B&B for 6 nights, our hosts Nikki and Nigel were perfect.

Little touches went that extra mile like a basket under our bathroom sink with toiletry essentials like deodorant, shaving foam, spare toothbrushes etc .
Also the tea making facilities in our room had options like drinking choc, ovaltine and biscuits in a little tin.A fresh bottle of drinking water was provided daily and breakfast time was negotiated (earlier on race days,a lie in on other mornings) The fry up was lovely but equally the fruit breakfast was smashing ! .Sitting round the table with other guests was very sociable too, swapping bike tales, good spots to watch the racing and general chit chat !

Our hosts were very helpfull with advise on where to eat in PEEL at night and places to visit like PEEL castle which was very enjoyable. The B&B was spotless and PEEL town is easily accessible.Parking is available in the car park across the road and our motorbike was safely parked in a neighbours driveway.

The best part was that we were getting the ferry back to dublin on our bike at 3 in the morning so Nikki packed us some sandwiches, cake and juice and what we thought was some chocolate but when we opened it up it was a little gift for us both!!!! a nice personal touch and we would love to stay again.

  • Liked — personal touches and very comfortable
  • Disliked — our room was the smallest of the three available but we spent hardly any time there.

We've just come back from a lovely week staying with Nikki and Nigel at Albany House, Peel. Nothing is too much trouble (with Nigel even lending my husband some clothes as one of our cases decided to stay behind at Birmingham while we flew to the Isle of Man!)
We stayed in the Yellow Room which was a proper home-from-home; comfy bed, every hot drink you could wish to have, good selection of biscuits (not pre-packaged), dressing gowns...I could go on forever!
Nigel's breakfasts are wonderful, even though we ourselves didn't do them full justice being quite light eaters in the morning; our fellow guests tucked in each morning with gusto.
We would recommend anyone to stay here as we will definitely be staying there again when we go back to the Island.
