“Where the new meets the old”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

What a museum! This is a museum that uses modern technology to bring to life the history of the Isle of Man. The tableau of the Viking round-house makes one feel as if you have gone back in time and are living with them. This is one museum NOT to be missed

“You'll miss out if you don't visit this excellent heritage site”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Great for all ages. Lovely to be able to sit down in various places and enjoy the various historic stories all about Peel and the Isle of Man. As you wander up stairs you can smell the kippers. Play on the bridge of the Steam Packet ferry. There is an excellent gift shop. Yummy cafe with excellent cakes and coffee. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful throughout the place.
Tip - If you've English Heritage or National Trust cards you can get in for free. There is also a saver ticket to do both House of Manannan and the Peel Castle.

“An entertaining history of the Isle of Man”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013

We really enjoyed this museum. It told the history of the Isle of Man through interactive displays and dioramas with authentic smells. It gave us some useful information before visiting other historic places on the island. The staff were helpful and willing to talk to us.

if we had been with children, this would have been a wonderful history lesson for them to learn about Celts and Vikings!
