“Great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2012

I've just returned from IOM and would like to thank Andy and Pip for making my trip such an enjoyable experience. I received a free upgrade to a beautiful room with settee and flat screen TV which actually had a decent selection of channels. On the 1st morning I asked for an omelette even though there wasn't one on the menu and was told - no problem. This is Pip and Andy's attitude to their customers, everything is geared towards giving the guest a memorable experience. The room was refreshed everyday and a small chocolate left - nice touch. Andy has all the time in the world to chat at breakfast as well as serving, whilst Pip's in the kitchen preparing the freshly cooked food. I would definitely recommend this as one of the best places to stay on the island.

Room Tip: Bear in mind there is no lift

We just returned home, I can't recommend highly enough the Inglewood , Andy and Pip couldn't have been more helpful and knowledgeable about the Isle from transportation to sights to food. the Inglewood is of standard much higher than most hotels , clean, incredible view from the room, great breakfast, you'd be missing out if you stayed anywhere else.
Cheers
MJ

Room Tip: Get the Seaview room, it's a real seaview

I stayed here for two days in March 2012 on a quick stopover in the Isle of Man while crossing from England to Ireland. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the IOM.

The location is excellent - right on the Promenade in Douglas, but outside the busiest area further towards the ferry wharf which has parking restrictions (so you can park your hire car outside or across the road and leave it there if you want to walk somewhere). The shopping streets in Douglas are about 10-15 mins walk down the Promenade, but there are restaurants and other shops all along the promenade including some nearby.

The hosts, Pip and Andy, were both friendly, lovely and immensely helpful, providing me with all the information I would need to travel around the island and see the sights. They are genuinely interested in their guests and both of them took the time to talk to me and ask me about my life and my travels.

My room (which was a couple of floors up at the back, and although no sea view it didn't matter as it was nice and quiet and Douglas was covered in sea mist anyway while I was there!) was a joy to stay in and was very clean and very spacious. There were several choices for the free hot breakfast (including cooked English breakfast and a continental breakfast (which I had)) along with cereal, juice and coffee, and lots to eat, all fresh and tasty. Nothing was any trouble.

There is Wi-Fi in the lounge on the ground floor and on the day I arrived Wi-Fi was in the process of being installed in the rooms. Hopefully it will be up and running some time this year.

The price paid was fantastic value for money too.

If you are going to the Isle of Man and staying in Douglas, definitely consider this hotel - it was fantastic and I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone else. The Isle of Man is a beautiful place which is very underrated, and this is a great place to base yourself while there.

Room Tip: The hotel is an older-style hotel (though all the rooms are all modern) so there are quite a lot of...

The Inglewood is consistently ranked as the best hotel in Douglas and deservedly so. Two years ago, when I last stayed, it was exceptional and, if anything, it’s got even better. My room was beautifully furnished, the bathroom was immaculate and the cooked-to-order breakfast was outstanding.

The Inglewood is a four-star hotel with 16 rooms in a great location, right on Douglas promenade. The owners Andy and Pip provide a personal service and they take pride in ensuring you have a genuinely enjoyable stay. Nothing is too much trouble.

For discerning business and holiday travellers, this is a much better choice than the bigger establishments on the island. Don't bother looking anywhere else.

I stayed at the Inglewood with my daughter and can highly recommend this hotel. Our room was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We had a stunning view of the beach and promenade. The traditional full english breakfast was delicious and set us up well for a day of sightseeing and shopping. Pip and Andy could not have been more friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. The perfect place to stay with friends and family or for business travellers looking for a home from home. Thank you for a fantastic time, we'll be back!
