I was lucky enough to visit twice in a weekend as part of hen weekend in October with 15 other ladies, the food was lovely, good value for money, I would highly recommend this tea room if you visit the IOW, the owners are more than friendly FANTASTIC.

“Still the best tea rooms”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

This is our 3rd year visiting the IOW & 3rd time wev'e been to the Old Thatch tea rooms, & the food & service is still tip top, cant fault anything! The cream teas are amazing & the children ( 12 & 4) even look forward to visiting! lovely child friendly owners :) Not expensive & well worth a visit.

“Step back in time”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

A damp Sunday afternoon. This place boasts awards, so I took a chance. I only wanted tea and cake, although they do serve full lunches and have a drinks licence; the cake was fresh and the portion generous. They use their own loose tea blend, and it is served in an 'open' tea bag. Very clever. I know the building is old, and I know it was a dull afternoon, but somehow the atmosphere was a bit lacking. I would go back if I visit Shanklin again, but maybe sit in the garden, weather permitting.

“Lovely Tea Rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2012

We went there as the building is so pretty and pink and situated at the heart of the village. It was a little cold but we enjoyed looking at the garden. The strawberry and ice cream tower was lovely and looked like the Eiffel tower with it's biscuit on top. The hot chocolate was nice and dragon tea. We only had 40 mins until it closed so it was pretty empty. Very nice though and would go back and recommend.
