Dunbar is one of my favourite places in scotland.
We stay at the camping and caravan site nearby. The town itself is small, and has some really nice shops and places to eat. If you go down to the harbour area, the views are stunning. If you go on a sunny day, which believe it or not, Dunbar has the highest sunshine record in the uk! the views are amazing, just looks like you are in Croatia, with some lovely rugged cliffs near the old castle ruins.
The visitor centre had just re opened after a major conservation programme, and is now a really smart looking old unique building on the main street, which housed a pictorial history of the town. The guy was really friendly in here, and took time to show us a historic dvd of the old outdoor pool and regeneration of the area.
The people are always very friendly, and make time to chat with you. Dunbar will always have a place in my heart!
