“Gorgeous Views on the East Coast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2012

After a lovely trip down the tourist caost road we arrived at Dunbar.Parking beside the lovely gardens at the top of the cliffs we enjoyed a range of home made cakes and coffee at the wee cafe in the park before setting out to explore the town.
The views from the cliffs were spectacular and provided great photographic opportunities as the waves smashed off the many prominent rocks. The town itself contains a wide range of interesting wee shops and is exceptionally clean with many attarctive floral displays. The harbour is gorgeous and gives many opprtunities to get the camera out again and there are boats which take visitors out for excursions.Above the harbour their is a visitor centre.

“Run Down Feel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2012

The town centre was a bit seedy and had a run down feel however the harbour was interesting, with a seal following a small fishing boat and being fed mackerel. The town was almost deserted but it was Olympic week. I would have expected a few more people on a bank holiday Monday in August

“Dunbar birthplace of John Muir”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2012

Dunbar is a lovely town to visit on a day out from Edinburgh. The harbour is delightful and is well provided with information boards explaining the historic importance of the town and other aspects of life past and present. There are some great views and lots of photo opportunities. You can visit John Muir's birthplace which is very interesting and you can see why a beautiful place like Dunbar produced such an important environmentalist. His statue is near his birthplace. Don’t leave your afternoon tea or coffee too late the town practically closes up at five o’clock!

“Beautiful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2012

We popped in to Dunbar on our way home after spending a week in Edinburgh. What a truly beautiful place, I really wish we had spent a whole day here during our stay. The views over the bay were quite breathtaking! The staff in the local shops were friendly and helpful, I think we will return to Dunbar!
