The Ganges is under new management. There's a new chef - Kalam Abdul - who introduced a completely revised menu a week ago. I'm fussy about my Indian food - having grown up there I usually prefer to cook my own food rather than eat out. I'd eaten at the Ganges many times and had take away from there on many occasions and it was always okay, but not great. A couple of weeks ago I went back in a rush and was amazed by the change and the delicious food. Kalam is from Bangladesh, and brings with him a love of fresh flavours and authentic cooking. I went back tonight with family and found an entirely revised menu. The menu focuses on flavour over heat, with excellent spicing. The Railway Shobji vegetable dish is superb, and the cumin and lentil chicken was great. Service is friendly and efficient, and the decor is tasteful. It was a great evening out, and I can't wait to go back.
