“Loved it”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2011

We - myself, my 15 yr old grandaughter and our Springer Spaniel - had a very enjoyable 3 day at Amber house in July.

We have the Rockpool suite which consists of 2 adjoining ensuite rooms, and the rooms were both well appointed, clean and modern. Having a dog with us was great fun, and there was lots to do with her, doggy walking was about 5 mins walk away, and she so enjoyed the beach.

Breakfasts each morning were lovely, with a good choice of fresh fruit, nuts and seeds, yoghurts, various cereals, and the full English or options as required. Other items can be catered for as requested.

Christine and her husband were perfect hosts, happy to answer questions about the area and suitable outings for dogs.

Would I go again - definatly yes!

Thank you for your review. The Rockpool room is a very useful multi-purpose room but is a little more expensive than most mid-range doubles as it has two en-suites and a double and single bed and is therefore is a family room. It is actually one room with a door between the two parts rather than two adjoining rooms with connecting two doors. It works well for families and you and the dogs ovbiously had a lovely time here and down at the dog friendly park and beach. Thank you for your comments.

Having stayed here in April for a long weekend and experiencing such a well run, clean and friendly hotel we decided to return for a longer stay. We were not disappointed ! Christine and her staff provided an excellent service from the substantial breakfast to the wonderful themed bedrooms. Add to this the friendly atmosphere and willingness to help with any query we had then we cannot recommend Amber House highly enough. Looking forward to the next time!

Thank you for your review. We do try to provide as much information as possible for those who require special diets and we would like to thank the people who stay here and take time to write information in our gluten-free book so that we can update our folder at regular intervals. Once you know where to go for special dietary requirements it makes your holiday so much easier. And of course we do provide GF breakfasts, paked lunches, biscuits and evening meals at certain times of the year. So thank you very much for yur review.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Our guest accommodation is ideally placed for some of the nicest beaches in the area: Goodrington Sands (about 5 minutes walk), Paignton (about 10mins walk), Broadsands ( 12 minutes by car). Do please return and enjoy them again. You are more than welcome. Many thanks.

A weeks stay in Devon was made more enjoyable by staying at Amber House. We stayed in Tall Ships. This was a very spacious room with great views over the bay and more draws than you would possibly need.

From arrival to leaving, we were treated like VIP's , nothing was too much trouble.

Amber House is a credit to Christine, Llyod and staff. We will certainly be back one day.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at Amber house....Chris and Lloyd were friendly and offered lots of advice about the area and eating out etc, The room Harbour was quite small but did have a separate room if required which we used as a dressing room!! It was very comfortable and tea/coffee facilities were welcome.
The breakfast was tasty and hot with lots of choice.
Amber House is within walking distance of the town and the steam train and very local to other towns within the area.
It was my partners birthday and it was a nice touch to receive a box of chocolates and a card thank you very much.

We would recommend this hotel to anyone not just for people with special dietary requirements. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was nice , well equipped and had a great view over Brixham harbour . There was plenty of choice at breakfasts.
