Visited the Italian Job on Friday as a friend had told me that it had recently re-opened under new management. It's still a cafe' and takeaway but now it's run by an Italian guy who really knows about food. As well as the usual paninis, toasties etc. they also serve pizza, pasta and puddings. I had a Calzone and my partner had a Pizza. My calzone was amazing - it looked enormous when it arrived but I had no trouble finishing it as the dough was light and crisp and the filling was enough but not over the top. My partner's pizza was equally good - the sausage was spicy and the tomato sauce well seasoned. However the real star of the show was the Tiramisu'. It was heaven on a plate - just the right balance of alcohol, coffee and cream.
I will definitely be going back - why fly to the Italy when you can get Italian food this good on your own doorstep!
