“Beautiful scenery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013

Haigh Hall is a country manor and has open grounds which are great for couples and young families. If you want to go for a picnic and relax in the grounds you will have a great time. There is also a mini golf course which you can spend an hour on and keep the kids amused.

The grounds are clean, there is an activity centre with arts and crafts, sand pit with swings etc. There's plenty to do.

I'm also having my wedding here in 2014 as the manor itself is amazing.

“First time visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013

We took our dogs for a local day out and enjoyed a pleasant walk in the grounds and through the woodland trails and down to the canal towpath.
Large car parks , £1.50, for the day, and clean toilets by the stable complex, which also houses the cafe serving a selection of food and drinks. The cafe was busy which is always a good sign and was reasonable value but average food. The walks are pleasant but was disappointed by the lack of marked trials, there are sign boards but minus the signs when we visited, so it was a little hit and miss, especially through the woodlands.
Overall there are woods, parkland and canal to walk by and decent amenities to supplement, children's play areas, crazy golf, miniature railway, cafe etc. so more than covers a family day out.

“Great free family day out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2013 via mobile

Me my husband and two boys went for a nice long stroll from the plantation gates upto the park which is a very long way but lots of benches scatterd around so you can stop and rest. There is a very good view over wigan from the hall and a viewfinder at 20p which is cheap for a closer look. The only bad thing is i think is that the cafe should open at tea time aswell as dinner time as lots of people are still around at tea time in the summer.

“brill”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Great fo young familiess, couples etc. The park was lovely and clean, the dog walkers picked up their mess BUT some irresponsible one's let their dogs off the lead to roam. Its ashame there is no "parkies" anymore to keep an eye on the place or remind them to keep the dogs on leafs. The cafe, snacks and ice creams are plentiful and good prices- the staff helpful and patient, A great day out with friends, families, a picnic etc.
