Before I start let me state that i have had quite a few decent (if not exactly cordon bleu) meals at this restaraunt, but today's was exceptionally poor. The meal was billed as "succulent chunks of beef cooked slowly in Marstons Pedigree Ale". Frankly Pedigree Chum would have been more tender and probably tastier. The dish consisted of a flaky pastry covered dish containing gravy and nine chunks of barely edible meat, (one chunk was if fact not at all edible and was left at the side of my plate), the pie was accompanied by chips and some rather al dente peas, In short what I that was worth eating was a somewhat expensive plate of chips and peas. The young waitress was apologetic and did offer a replacement and was very pleasant but the offer was politely declined.
