“Excellent farm, visitor attraction and party venue for children.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2012

I have previously reviewed the lovely cafe, but failed to mention the excellent all improving farm.
We took my five your old daughter for a party with 19 of her friends from school, a couple of extra children, our family and lots of parents.
The farm does a lovely package and lends a lovely lady tour guide this time ( this is our second official party here, after a gap of about five years) with lots of visits in between.
We had lovely Lynne, who took charge and led the children round with us parents to see all the attractions, we had the use of a lovely barn for the food, and this was all set up with food boxes, with extra treats in while we were on our party route. We fed lambs, deer, milked pretend cows, held the chicks, rabbits and guinea pigs, went on a tractor ride, and an extra ride, then went back for lunch. Parties last about 2 hours and are great fun, I highly recommend having the tour, available with 12 or over guests. After the party, everyone went to the indoor barn for fun climbing and on the toy tractors. For the price we also got a super party bag for each child, which contained on free child s ticket in each bag.

We've been back again, this time, with my older daughter, her friends, husband and youngest for the older girls birthday. We split up, the older girls doing their thing, feeding animals, going to the cafe and having fun. It hailstones, for 5 minutes, and then completely heated up again, and we were well prepared except for one coat so I bought a £1.25 poncho for that girl.

We had a great day, feeding animals playing about, grooming ponies, with lots of fresh air, coffee and tea.

It's an excellent day out. The staff are lovely, Chris, Jill and Lynne, and the younger members of staff. The cafe is spotless, and they clean the tables quickly, the animals are happy, and it's really worth a visit for all ages

Really, take your grandparents too it really is a good day, even if it rains

“On the farm”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2012

We arrived at around 11 oclock (the farm opens at 10.30) and was already quite busy, we were given a map of the farm and advised to go straight to the lamb feeding which was about to start. Me and my friend went for something different to do and although we are 16 and 17 we both thoroughly enjoyed the activites. Even though the activites are aimed at children of all ages, we very much enjoyed the lamb feeding and pony grooming. There were hundreds of animals to see, feed and hold. We ate in the cafe which we found reasonably priced and quick service. However we did not go to the indoor play area which had face painting and found after about 2 hours there wasn't much else as we had seen everything. This would be an ideal day out for families.

“Great day out!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2012

Went here with family which inluded 4 children aged 3-10. We all had a great day! Our activities included donkey rides, feeding lambs, grooming ponies, petting and holding rabbits, guinea pigs and baby chicks, trailer rides, feeding deer (including a new fawn,) watching a puppet show and playing on a good outside play area and a very good inside soft play area. Good for 1 day I think!! Loads of handwashing facilities. Restaurant OK. Staff pleasant and helpful. A really enjoyable day out.Well worth a visit.

“Small”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2012

Not bad, but certainly not the best cafe & farm shop around. Its very small and I felt rather cramped. Food was quite tastey but I just didnt feel comfortable.

Very well run. Staff very friendly and answered any questions the children asked. Lovely views and great outdoor play area and indoor soft-play area incase the weathers a bit wet. Would definately recommend a visit.
