Traditional pub, friendly bar staff and lovely home cooked food. The Lasagne is amazing, will be visiting this gem again! Great place for a few drinks and a meal - ideal venue for all occasions

“A warm welcome and delicious food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2014

We had lunch with friends here and received a friendly welcome, were shown our reserved table (ready with menus) in a cosy area, near the peat-burner on this chilly day and started the arduous task of choosing what to eat as there was the main menu; the specials board containing approx. 8 items and the steak board! - but did not feel hurried. When our meals arrived they were very well presented; we were amazed at the portion sizes and were asked if we required extra sauces etc. All the food was delicious, cooked thoroughly - and hot (a rare treat these days!). We will definitely return and recommend this place to all our friends

“Delicious food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2014

Visited the Chichester Arms for the first time today to meet some friends for lunch, the surroundings were just what you would expect from a period thatched pub, lovely open fire, oak beams and flag stone floors. The staff were really friendly and helpful and when the meals arrived we couldn't believe our eyes. The quality of the food and portion sizes were amazing and they all tasted wonderful. Will definitely be going back on a regular basis.

“Fantastic service and dining!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2014

I've been going to 'The Chich' very often for a while and am always delighted with the service and the quality of the food. On a Sunday the roast never disappoints and the range of specials on offer are always fantastic! They have a wide range of traditional ales and always have lovely wines on offer. Both lunchtimes and evenings are always a pleasure as the main menus cater for both children and adults alike as well as having the lovely options available of the fish, specials and steak boards at lunch times as well as evenings. The desserts are lovely and I always try to save room for dessert although the portion sizes are very big but very delicious. The Chich is by far the best pub in North Devon if not the best in the South West and I cannot wait to return.

“A quality pub, with quality grub!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2014

Came here last Friday with the wife and kids. I chose Partridge as I've never had it before. It came with wild mushrooms and pommes puree. I think they forgot the vegetables, but nevermind. For £13, my meal was pure michelin star gastronomy. The best meal I've had anywhere! I'm a pretty good cook myself and know 100% that this chef knows his stuff. I would hazard a guess that the previous lady who was asked to leave must be used to bland food as the food is seasoned perfectly and the beef local and melts in your mouth! Apparently they are doing Pheasant etc here so as Bruce Forsythe say's....'Good game, good game!!' Keep up the good work!
