Visited the Bosun's locker for the first time. We hadn't reserved and didn't realise that we should have done. However, they did their best to squeeze us in the time frame before the reservees would come in, which was really lovely. Couldn't decide what to eat, there was a lot more choice than I expected. However, in the end, I opted for the meat and potato pie with chips and peas. The food came rather quickly which is always a bonus. They also provided us with sauces, gravy, beetroot and onions for the pie which is a nice touch. Me and my Mum both had the pie, and my dad had the lamb's liver. My dad couldn't fault his dish, which came with chips and vegetables. My Mum and I both loved the homemade chips, however the pie was quite bland, with some added shredded onions for flavour it would have been the perfect pie. The place itself is quaint and very cute, wooden tables give it that homely feel. The amount of food you get is well worth your money, me and my Mum were more than satisfied with the plateful and got full quite quickly. My dad managed to eat a 'chocolate challenge.' He didn't know what it was when he ordered it but thought it sounded appealing to a chocaholic like himself. It turned out to be a chocolate cake with chocolate mousse inside (which I managed to taste) and it was lovely. They had lots of dessert choices which sounded great but unfortunately I couldn't manage anything....next time ;)
