This was our third visit to Linthwaite for dinner and we will return again. Last time we visited the service had been a little hit and miss but this time it was "spot on." We sat in the conservatory with wonderful views and enjoyed our predinner drinks. This time we ate in the first of their two dining rooms which I prefer as it is lighter and more roomy. The taster celeriac and prune soup was excellent as were the breads. My husband rated his goats cheese, pickled raspberry and honeycomb starter very highly whilst for me, my sea bream with lemon sauce was outstanding. Desserts were strawberries, poached meringue and sorbet whilst my husband had chocolate tart. We were both reluctant to share our desserts which reflects the quality.
A leisurely coffee in the lounge finished a lovely evening.
