We only had a short stay, one night, but we were made very welcome. The rooms were a good size, comfortable and had everything in it we needed and we even had a view of the lake. Breakfast was excellent, you definately need to try the black pudding, it was very tasty. Collin and Sandra were so friendly and very helpful and recommeded an excellent pub (Hole in the Wall) and several restaurants we could try. You cant beat the location, a few minutes walk from the town and lake. If we were ever back in Bowness then we would definately return and I would certainly reccomend this b&b.

The guest house was a great place to stay. We had a lake view, nice cosy room. The location was good, not only were we close to the lake but also to other attractions and restaurants. Our hosts, Colin and Sandra, were very welcoming, friendly and cooked us a yummy and very filling breakfast (we even were convinced to try Colin's black pudding...!)

my partner and i stayed here over a may bank holiday as it was advertised as being gay-friendly and had got good reviews.

sandra and colin were really really nice hosts, making us feel very welcome - and colin is an unforgettable character! the room was clean and cozy, and even had a view of the lake (just!) - wonderful stay and would heartily recommend this hotel to others!

Yet again, great service, accomodation with the added benefits of two first class hosts in Colin and Sandra. It is a great place to escape the 24/7 pressures of business and a somewhere I have no hesitation in writing such well deserved feedback.

After reading all the excellent reviews we were sure we would have a nice stay at this B&B....how wrong we were!
Firstly the staff, Colin and Sandra. Both friendly, some may have said Colin was a bit much but thats just the way he is. I didn't mind him at all. Sandra was nice and made a lovely breakfast!!! ( the only good thing! )
Location : - Excellent, right next to the lake.
Accommodation : - Very shabby. the room was outdated and felt really grubby. There was a smell of stale smoke everywhere. The room was small and had a small single paned window, and because it was starting to get cold in Septemeber ( and the heating was hardly ever on!) it got very cold. The bathroom was also very small, there was a tiny handbasin,a broken shower cubical ( a shower curtain instead of a door) and an extractor fan that sounded like a jet engine!

Overall, although Colin and Sandra were very nice, it just didn't make up for the poor quality of the accommodation. I don't usually write bad reviews, but i feel i needed to write this because of all the excellent reviews on here about the Bayhouse Lake View, which i just can't get my head around!!!!
