“Lovely B+B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2012

Me and my girlfriend have just returned from our stay at the Laurel Cottage. It was a lovely place to stay, very picturesque and traditional and in a very good location, right by all the pubs and restaurants and the lake. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and the room was lovely, the breakfast was delicious with plenty to choose from. The car park is a 2 minute walk away and was all safe and secure. Absolutely no bad points at all, would definitely recommend others to stay here. We will definitely be going back soon.

Room Tip: Would request your own bathroom as some rooms share one

My partner & I have just returned from a 2 night stay over the Easter break to celebrate my birthday.
This is a lovely cottage, right in the centre, with bars, shops & restaurants on our doorstep.
We received a lovely welcome from Tony as the owners were away. He told us what was round & about us which we found helpful.
We were able to park our car in a bigger car park which is just a 2 min walk to the left of the cottage. Laurel Cottage has their own spaces there for guests so there's no charge & no awkward parking.
Our room, which was number 18, was really cosy & clean, there were a lovely bunch of tulips and a birthday card in our room which I thought was a really nice touch.
Our room had freeview TV, ensuite, wardrobe, dressing table & coffee & tea which was everything we needed. The only slight downfall in our room was the shower as it only trickled ha, but it didn't bother us too much. We wern't disturbed at all as it was quite quiet.
The breakfast was lovley, we were offered toast & jams, coffe or tea to start with & then had the cottage grill (cooked breakfast) & it set us up for most of the day as there was plenty on our plates & cooked lovely, the cumberland sausage was huge! We also had a choice of cereals, fruit & fresh orange & the staff were friendly.
We couldn't comment on the pool & fitness centre as we didn't have time to use it.
This really was a lovely homely place to stay & we would go back & would definitely recommend it!

Excellent location & service from Jason & his team. Up-graded to 4 poster room with new en-suite & to top it all we had breakfast served in room for both days. Parking is tight but Jason will assist. Everything on doorstep so perfect location. Will return again.

Myself and partner visited the Laurel Cottage last month for valentines. The cottage is perfectly situated in the centre of Bowness and offers parking to guests which is a big +. On arrving at the cottage we were greeted by the owner and shown to our 4 poster room. The room was beatifully decorated and the furniture was nice and modern. The following morning we were served breakfast 'in room' which i thought was a great idea! The breakfast was well presented and the ingredients were to the highest standard, this was a perfect start to our day! Overall this a great little homely B&B in a perfect location at a very good price (we payed £88 for the night). If visiting Bowness you will not be disappointed with the Laurel Cottage!

Warm friendly welcome by the owner Jason and his team. Upgraded to a bigger room without an extra charge. Room overlooked a beautiful church and beyond. Very clean and decorated beautifully. Felt at home. Located perfectly near restraunts, shops and bars. value for money too. Breakfast was lovely, the staff very pleasant and cheery. We will definitely go back!

Room Tip: Double ensuite room overlooking the church - room 16

What a lovely place ,we stayed here with friends 2nd and 3rd march and wished it was longer.Inside is like a tardis ,the rooms were olde worlde but modern decor and clean and quiet.we had a fridge in our room too ,nice touch.powerful hairdryer.we had 2 victorian rooms 2 and 5 .lovely showers too.The service is excellent and breakfast great, try the bowl of fruit ,it was delicious yum! Jason had recomended some restaurants which one was across the road Jacksons Bistro and another Postilion just up the road{ so you can dress up and walk in heels ladies } the tapas bar is nearly next door which we went in for a drink after .that was good too not too noisy.the royal oak is across the other road and had drinks there too ,also good .with all that near you it is still quiet in your rooms. the lake is also about 4 mins away .PERFECT will be going again .Our friends used the gym and pool 2 mins away and it was excellent.
