“Best cafe in Bowness”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

Stumbled across this cafe on a rainy weekend stay in the lakes. Clean and modern with a warm and friendly atmosphere. A great range of home cooked cakes and food. The latte and goats cheese tart is to die for.

“Our favourite little lunch place in the lakes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

This is the second time we have come, the last being last year and couldnt believe that the lovely ladies remembered us. This wonderful place, run by the most lovely Mum and Daughter is so friendly and cosy. The soup was gorgeous (again)-just what we needed with the cold weather outside. The carrot cake was also absolutely divine. My husband and i agree that the mocha is the best of anywhere (better than any of the big names...)- so smooth, chocolatey without being too sweet and sickly but smooth without being bitter (an ideal mocha!!) we would urge you to try it!. We will be back again!!!!

“Fantastic Dog Friendly Cafe with Huge Cakes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013

For many years Bowness-in-Windemere has lacked a Dog friendly Cafe whilst its other Lake District neighbouring towns had at least one, if not two to choose from.

Well worry no more, Dog Owners as Cafe Latte allows your four legged friends to join you whilst you tuck into their excellent home made food.

We arrived at Lunchtime, and although the cakes looked lovely, my first priority was some hot food. This was not a problem as they cater for breakfasts and breakfast type rolls as well as BLT's and things like that. Even my coffee was brewed to my weak specifications thus saving me the usual post coffee headache.

After we polished off a couple of Bacon Rolls, it was time to move onto the cakes. Its unlikely you will have seen quite a collection as the ones you will see here and with them all being home baked, the servings you get are anything but small. The Raspberry Scone wife ordered nearly needed delivered by crane!!

It was all polished off by a traditional glass bottle of coke, which as we all know is the only way to drink it, but soft drinks are varied in choice from water to traditional lemonade.

The decor in the Cafe is light, comfortable and compact with the cakes on display at the front of the counter. Please bear this in mind if you are taking you dog in, as it may prove too tempting for the wee souls if you put them at the tables next to the counter.

We stayed for a good hour or so in the cafe, and had a chat with the owners and some of the locals who use it and generally had a great time. I would highly recommend this to everyone, but especially dog owners.
