“Nice place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

We stayed here four nights & enjoyed our stay. Lovely old house with beautiful garden, & Judith, the proprietor, very friendly. Everything very clean, and a full English breakfast provided. Close to main centre. Lovely area of the world! Would recommend!

Room Tip: If you have difficulty with stairs just ask for a room on lower floor.

Fantastic from start to finish. Very warm welcome from the owners, very clean rooms with plenty of space. Very quiet and very peaceful. The waiter at breakfast is very polite and the food is top notch - just what you need before a days walking! Will be re-visiting for sure. Thank you again!

Just back today from a week in Elim HOUSE! I emphasise the word house as right next door is Elim Lodge. Definitely not to be mistaken for Judith's sea of tranquility. This B and B is quiet (an absolute must for me), and as mentioned in previous posts, absolutely spotless (another huge box ticked for me). The breakfast room was pristine every morning, with crisp white tablecloths on the black tables. I dont know how Judith does it, but no matter how many guests sat for breakfast, she'd be there in moments, bringing out the correct order without even appearing to see who had come. The breakfasts were well cooked and tasty. The bedroom I had was No.6 (an en-suite double bed with shower), at the top of the house and a nice view of the front garden and the hills surrounding the lake over the rooftops. Every evening I came back to a freshly cleaned room, bed perfectly made and restocked supplies of tea/coffee/creamers etc. There was a fast (free) BT homehub for wifi, very useful and parking for a handful of cars round the back. All this AND at a very nice price too, well done Judith, top marks from someone who normally doesnt have much good to say about B and B's.. you restored my faith. Will definitely book again should I wish to continue my exploration of that part of the world. Alan.

Room Tip: I can only vouch for room 6, the double bed, en suite shower room, a good hot shower. Large room wit...

This was our second visit to this B&B. It is lovely and clean and the staff are very acommodating. The waiter at breakfast is very polite.

Just a small tip, if you are tall, don't have room 5, it has lovely beams in the room. Doesn't bother us as we are small.

My wife and I booked Elim House for a 3 night holiday in the Lakes. Judith and Steve were very hospitable and welcoming. Our room had an en-suite and a very large comfy bed which was needed after walking miles every day! The addition of wi-fi was an unexpected bonus too. Breakfast each morning was superb and just what we needed. The location was handy too, very peaceful at night yet only a few minutes walk from the pubs and restaurants. We look forward to coming back soon.
