We have just come back from a 2 night stay at the Burnside on a KGB Deal. 2 nights for 2 people, bed and breakfast, £99.00. Including unlimited use of the nearby Parklands Country Club (see separate review). Bargain.
The hotel is set just back from the lake cruisers launch in the village centre, but no more than a 5 minute stroll away. We had room 127 which is to the side of the building, far enough away from the main road to be quiet, but offering views over the gardens and a southern view down the lake, with the fells beyond. It made for a lovely sight on a glorious Saturday morning.
The room itself was spacious and comfortable, with 4 poster bed and all the usual requirements. The bathroom was lovely and a nice size and appeared as though it had only recently been refurbished (possibly during the hotel's recent refurbishment closure).
The landing areas were a little dated and had clearly not been recently refurbished. But they were clean and presentable.
The restaurant and bar areas were very nice and comfortable and there was ample space to find your own quiet corner. Bar prices were more expensive than a pub but typical of a hotel.
Although we didn't eat evening meal in the hotel, the breakfast was excellent, offering the usual buffet style and the choices were plentiful.
We found all the staff most helpful. There is plenty of car parking spaces.
We would definitely return to the Burnside Hotel.
