The restaurant offers a great value Menu if you sit down and order before 7pm. We were lucky in that we arrived at 6.45pm, with the restaurant almost full, except for a table for two, which we gladly took.
As you can imagine, the restaurant was exceptionally busy, and probably down to the fact that a coach load must have descended on them around 15-30 minutes before we arrived. Notwithstanding this, we were attended to within a short time and drink order taken and we were left to study the menu. After ordering, my wife changed her mind on the main course, having seen the fantastic Lamb Shank that was given to the woman on the next table. We asked the waitress if we could change the order, and she checked with the chef to see if it could. Good news, they could change it and they did. Nice to see that even though it was busy, they could attend to us in this way.
The wine list was reasonable and we had a bottle of the Argentinian Malbec. Reasonable at £20 per bottle, and went perfect with my Fillet Steak and the Lamb Shank.
The restaurant thinned out after an hour, so we decide to finish the night downstairs in the bar. This had really comfortable seating and whilst not massive in size, was perfect for the number of people in for this Saturday night. We had a couple of cocktails and brandies, which were great, and left after a couple of hours.
All in all, we'd definitely go back and recommend that you dont pass this little gem. Step inside and you wont be disappointed.
