We dropped by for dinner quite early, with no reservations and were given a table straight away. We got a bottle of chilled white wine which was just the ticket on a hot day. I ordered a ravioli starter whilst my wife had a garlic and tomato bread. The garlic bread was good but the ravioli was poor. As other reviewers have suggested, I don't think it could have been homemade, was pretty tasteless and was drowning in too much tomato sauce. I think the tinned ravioli I had as a kid was more tasty! We were a little concerned that the 9" pizzas they serve would be too small, but we needn't have worried. They were both really tasty, freshly prepared and filling too! We shared a sorbet and ice cream for dessert. £50 including wine & tip for two people. Service was fast and efficient. Staff, predominantly young Spaniards I think, were very pleasant and friendly. They quickly corrected a minor, 50p, error on our initial bill. Overall I'm giving this a 4/5 as the disappointing pasta was more than made up for by the pizza and the pleasant staff. I think that the majority of pubs/restaurants in the area are a bit more expensive than my home town. However it's a very popular holiday area here, it's packed in peak season, it's a captive market, and most businesses have about 7 weeks to make some decent money, so don't come to the Lakes expecting places to be inexpensive. We tried to get in the following evening, at a later time but it was full. After trailing round a while we ended up at The Albert - see separate review.
