“A piece of heaven in paradise.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

A boutique hotel that really lives up to its name. Great service, rooms fantastic with beds that your don't want to get out of, in quiet location (with parking) that is only two minutes walk from the hussle and bussle of Bowness and the lake. Residents have access to a nearby spa and breakfast was excellent - if they had a resturant you would never leave the hotel.

Room Tip: Room 7 has a Villeroy & Bosh suite with rain shower and a large bath complete with mirror tv at...

We've just stayed for 2 nights at this hotel and everything was amazing. We stayed in room 11 and we loved it. From check in to check out, couldn't fault a thing. We'll definitely be going back again. Ideal for a romantic getaway due to all the romantic extras you can order.

I highly recommend Cranleigh for a stay in Windermere, it is a very charming, clean and homely B&B/Boutique Hotel. Reception personnel are excellent, going the full mile to ensure that your stay is comfortable and your experience is a pleasant one. On arrival and throughout our stay we were fortunate to have Elena to attend to us, you can tell that she enjoys her job and is so well suited for it, perfect hostess. Everyone else was great as well and made us happy to be there. Breakfast is good and more than enough to start you off on a good foot for a day's exploration and adventure in and around the Lake District.
Our rooms were adequate (maybe a bit smaller than we are accustom to however we travel too heavy anyway) and the bathroom in my room was the" Star" feature.

Charming Boutique B&B

Thank you very much for your comprehensive review. We’re very happy that you would highly recommend us. We try to make the hotel as welcoming as possible throughout and it seems that we have met this objective and that pleases us! It’s great that you have reviewed individual members of staff and we genuinely thank you for this. The thing that stands out within your review is the service from the hotel and that is key for us. Thank you once again, we hope to see you again in the future.

we got married in may and as we have children wanted to have a little get away for a couple of nights alone. I had noticed the Cranleigh on one of the advertisements on facebook and decdided to have a look at their site. we fell inlove will all the rooms but my husband loved the escape suite. we booked up for two nights for the day after our wedding. When we arrived the staff were lovely, explained everything to us about our stay and of local areas to visit etc. when we got to our suite it was stunning and was even better than the pictures. we had complimentary champagne and chocolates to celebrate our wedding which was a lovely gesture. the town of bowness is stunning and loved a little walk around and boat trip to lakeside.

our breakfast was brought to us at a time we selected and had a vast choice to select from. The suite had every thing we needed and the mini bar prices were very surprising. they were so cheap and were fully stocked on alot of variety.

when we wanted to go somewhere special for dinner the hotel staff were very helpful of where to go. El Porto is a must. a small but suffisticated establishment. also there is a Tapa's restaurant just down the hill and that was amazing. traditional tastes and great cocktails. a must.

I know the cost of our suite was quite alot and alot of people would argue that they could go abroad for the same price but for our experience it was well worth the money for our special occasion. thanks again to everyone at The Cranleigh

Room Tip: check out the facebook page as they sometimes do offers and giveaways x

Thank you very much for your review, it is brilliant that we helped you celebrate such a special occasion and that you can honestly tell from your feedback that you had such a good time. It’s good to know where you heard about the hotel too and that we met and exceeded your expectations.

Your feedback on the costs of the suite and the worth of it is great too as this will display to others that the suites genuinely are worth the additional money.

Thank you once again, all the best.

Kind Regards

Just returned from a two night break with my husband and we stayed in the sanctuary suite. WOW! It was amazing. I'd booked it as a surprise for my husband and it certainly did that. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated with little special touches here and there. The bed was so comforatable, the pillows so soft we didn't want to get out of bed but the hot tub in the private garden was our incentive to do so! The bathroom with the crystal bath and tv was a girls dream, hubby could have his shower whilst I relaxed in the bath! The mirrored windows leading outside meant anyone looking over from their window could see me but I could see the blue sky whilst soaking!
The hot tub was great fun and we certainly made good use of it especially as it as so hot that weekend. Even though it was a 'hot' tub it was refreshing to have a dip when it was as hot as it was outside.
Breakfast served in the room was a lovely touch, delivered promptly and with a smile despite my bed head hair! My husband had the full English both mornings and enjoyed it, little touches like keeping the beans hot in a little glass jar so they wouldn't go cold or turn other bits soggy whilst you had your toast/cereal/pastries. I had pastries and smoked salmon. Very tasty and they were generous with the portions.
The mini bar was reasonably priced too, not extortionate prices like you'd expect in a hotel, just regular bar prices.
The service was superb too. Elena was very polite, efficient and helpful on email on the run up to our stay, even ringing me on the day we were due to arrive to let me know the room would be available early (12:30!) if we were nearby then we could check in earlier than the 3pm as standard.
We both loved our stay here and we are already wondering when we can afford to stay again! Worth every penny

‘Wow’ – we love it! Creating the Wow factor is one of the things we love to achieve. The Sanctuary really is an amazing suite and we love how enthusiastic you are about it. The hot tub is a fantastic feature especially when the weather is nice but great too that you can use it when it’s not – win, win! Thanks for your feedback especially on the staff and the breakfast particularly as we deliver the breakfasts to the suites it’s valuable to know that we are getting this right for our customers. It sounds like we will be welcoming you again in the future at The Cranleigh, we look forward to this. Thanks again.
Kind Regards
