“A Lovely Stay with Wonderful Hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

I stayed at Graythwaite with Hazel and John for five weeks in September and October while I was on Fellowship at Keele University, and I must say that my experience was outstanding in every respect. I slept at one time or another in four of the bedrooms, and all were spotlessly clean with very comfortable beds and linens, and large windows with considerable natural light - all in all, very much a terrific home away from home. As others have mentioned, the breakfasts were very good (John takes great pride in their quality) and made to order. I would also say that Hazel and John were amazingly helpful with ideas and cost saving suggestions for my extensive travels on the weekends to see various parts of western England. Through the course of my stay with them, we became great friends, which I think is a regular occurence given the amount of repeat business they receive. Hazel and John are delightful people and excellent B&B operators. Finally, I might also make a brief comment about location. The house is in a nice and quiet neighborhood adjacent to a private school and a nearby park. It is a 5 minute walk to a major bus line and a 10 minute cab ride to the Stoke on Trent train station. There are numerous and diverse restaurants within a short walking distance as well. While staying with John and Hazel, I made easy day trips by train to Liverpool, Chester, Stratford upon Avon, the Peak District, Birmingham and Manchester. Graythwaite would be the perfect location to stay in one place and move around and see the western UK. All in all, I could not recommend Graythwaite more highly.

“OUTSTANDING SERVICE AND CUSTOMER CARE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

This really is an outstanding guest house. Simply put the owners Hazel and John cannot do enough for you. They go above and beyond your expectations in every conceivable way. You become part of "the family" for the duration of your stay. The breakfasts are of such a high standard you just want to sit there all day and eat, the rooms are spotless with furnishings to a very high standard and television in all rooms including satellite. To be honest you simply cannot fault the place or your hosts. You certainly will not be disappointed.

“Home from home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012

We have stayed here several times and will keep going back. The bedrooms are lovely and comfortable. The breakfast is excellent with local food. Hazel and John are very friendly and welcoming. The only problem with this guest house is that it is so popular you do have to book well in advance.

“Our 4 th visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2012

We have stayed at other B&B in the potteries when we have come to collect pottery supplies, plus visit some of the local attractions. We think that Hazel and John run the best there is. Always welcoming, spotlessly clean and a great breakfast. Close to a varied choice of resturants in walking distance. We will be returning, no place compares. So pleased we found the Graythwaite

“Our hosts really made us feel welcome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012

Hazel and John run a very wonderful bed and breakfast. We arrived tired, wet, and anxious after flying overnight to England from America. They took us in and made us feel right at home. John's cooking was the best we encountered in our two week stay as we traveled the North of England. And we had some great breakfasts elsewhere, so that is saying something. Hazel really cares for her guests and the result is that it is a happy house. One of the guests commented that he had been coming to Graythwaite Guest House for years and that we would not find a better B&B in our travels. He was correct! I heartily recommend this establishment
