“80th Birthday Party”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

Thank you to everyone who made our party special. Mr Sheikh, Simon and his staff made booking our surprise party really easy and provided every element needed. Special effort was also made to keep the surprise resulting in a very happy birthday girl. The buffet was delicious and the disco and dj were excellent. We were in great hands as he put every effort into the night, even when not many danced making a great atmosphere. The hotel is very well run, clean and spacious. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to book a party, no matter what the size.

We have just returned from an overnight stay at The Borough Arms. Checking in and out was done efficiently.
The first room we were given in the annex had a leak from the hand wash basin, but we were immediately given another room. The rooms in the annex are Travel Lodge style basic, clean and adequate. The beds were very comfortable and we liked the fact that there were over sheets.
Breakfast was very good with serve yourself cereal etc. and then waitress service for the rest of breakfast.

I recently stayed here for a wedding and Mr Sheikh and his staff could not have done enough for us. They knew us by name and made the whole experience a lot more personable than staying in a corporate/chain type of hotel. Food and quality for money was excellent.

Although I've lived outside N Staffs for most of the last 30 years, I decided to have a 50th birthday party with my family and friends in Newcastle. Having dined at the Borough in the past, I knew that the food was very good and that the staff were really friendly, so we booked the restaurant for around 40 of us. Absolutely everyone thought that the meal and service were excellent, which is pretty amazing for such a large group. I'm a regular visitor to the area and have dined in plenty of local restaurants. I just can't imagine anywhere else in N Staffs getting such fantastic feedback. The Borough's owner and staff are really nice, friendly, helpful people and many of the guests commented on this during and after the party. A truly wonderful 50th birthday party!

I stop at this hotel a fair amount as it is just up the road from where need to get to for business reasons.
I am always welcomed very warmley and have a very relaxing stay.

Staff are always very pleasant and accommodating.
Food wise - I generally saunter into the bar area around 5.30/6pm and have the bar meals, always tasty, and service excellent.
I will return like I have been doing.

Room Tip: Rooms are basic but have the necessities, I stay in the rooms which are adjacent to the hotel as a l...
