“Great Family Pub/Restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

During our short stay at the Haven caravan park, we spent a couple of evenings at the Springhead Pub/Restaurant with our two young grandsons who thoroughly enjoyed the safe play area in the gardens overlooking the downs. The range of beers and wines were extensive and of great quality and the two meals we had were both of gourmet standard at an average price. The staff were very friendly and helpful, overall a very enjoyable experience. Highly recommended.

“Sunday pub carvery in lovely location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013

Keep the expectations of the food lower and you will have a fantastic time. Had the carvery and it was very busy and popular. 11 pounds per adult. Outdoor tables. Good to get reservations on a Sunday when it is sunny. Picnic tables and bistro tables outdoors. Free wifi. Friendly staff. You can see the White Horse on the hill from the outdoors. Very busy. Cute little river nearby with ducks. Children's playground. Food fine.

“Loved it”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013

Staff excellent service, friendly, accommodating young staff. Bent over backwards , I think, to make our meal successful.

On the night we visited, sign said no meals til 8pm
Upon querying , the pub was hosting a large anniversary event. I liked this touch, up front and concise. No wine coolers but that was due to event... But hey, holidays are callout time and you just go with flow...... Well, we do..

I explained that it would be easier for me with a five year old if I could order now, and they obliged.
The food arrived just after 8pm
Squid - crispy and cooked well. The ham and chicken terrine to die for.... Need that recipe. Child's sausages, tasty .
Pork belly, yummy melt in mouth experience. Husband had burger which he polished off

Outside play area may need a little attention. But at the bottom of this valley surrounded by bleating sheep, green pastures in the shadow of the chalk hillside horse And a full huge moon the experience was a memorable one, for all the right reasons....

The staff - carry on as you're doing, young helpful staff from bar girl to glass collector all we're cheery...

“Sunday afternoon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

Arrived at 4pm on a Sunday and suprised to find food still being served. I had the scallops and my partner had the chowder. Both excellent. Also a couple of chaps playing live accoustic music and not the screeching guitars that stop all conversation. They were very good. We will be going again.

“No food on a sunday evening.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013

During a weekend in Weymouth we kept seeing signs on the main road for Bar and Restaurant "the Springhead", we decided to have our evening meal there on Sunday, after an hour walk, we was greeted by the worst singer any one could wish to hear and no food being served. Not Happy!!
