“Excellent food with great service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

I took my wife to The Sunray in Osmington Weymouth for dinner on 6th November. What a great meal, large portions & very reasonably priced. We did not have long to wait for our food and the staff were very attentive.

“Another great visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

We recently revisited this pub and found it to be as good as our previous experience. Especially worthy of note was the waiter who found some child sized cutlery for our small sons. The adventure playground was much enjoyed and the food quality and portion size was super.

“Low quality food and poor service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012 via mobile

Went with a party of 11 for a 21st birthday. Ok they did decorate the table and the speed of service was good, but after that it was all down hill. The waitresses had no table waiting skills, removing plates without asking, leanding across the table to serve without even apologing, no please or thankyou, and the final act was to bring the bill without asking and the pace around the till with coats in hand... and it was only 10pm on Saturday. On top of that food was low quality... burnt steak, over cooked musles, and dried up peas, were just a few examples. The prices were reasonable and the portions generous, but that does not make up for poor service and low quality food. I've been here 2 or 3 times thus year, and its getting worse... I won't be going back I'm a hurry, if its my choice.

“Nice food, worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012 via mobile

Visited here for Sunday lunch and arrived just after midday. There were only a few of us in at the time. Staff helped with the high chair and came to take the order promptly. Wife ordered the veggie sausages on the carvery and were called when they were ready. I had a good size portion of beef and pork and helped myself to the yorkshire puds and variety of vegetables. We had the ice cream and strawberry cheesecake for dessert which were nice. Overall polite and helpful staff, nice food at reasonable prices. Only fault was we sat at table 19 which was where the queue to the carvery was. Well worth a visit. Upon leaving the pub was full and busy so I would recommend making a reservation.

“Not bad, could do better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

We went with friends who regularly enjoy a mid-week lunchtime carvery there. We were all disappointed in the evening experience. The menu was good and the waitress who served us was very friendly and efficient. The restaurant itself was very cold and draughty, the windows sealed with selotape! Our friend made a booking and asked for a specific table which we were told had already been reserved so was unavailable, in the whole time we were there nobody used the table we wanted and we actually seated right next to it. The carvery was disappointing for the two who chose that, the food could have been hotter and the veg had been waiting around too long so had spoiled. Two of us had the New York Chicken which was actually very good.
