“Loved it !!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2011

Upon arrival the reception staff were friendly and helpful. The mobile home was clean and the shower was good. Whilst we didn't watch very much tv it was handy that cbbc and cbeebies were available among the 10 or so channels. The park is in a great location, a very short walk to the beach and small funfair, along with the seafront bar, cafe and shop. The on-site facilities met all of our needs. Our children loved the outdoor play area, indoor soft play and the indoor swimming complex which has 2 slides. My husband and I enjoyed the sauna and steam room. There was also an outside pool which whilst we only used it once, would certainly have been used more often should the weather have been a bit warmer. The main reason for us going to Waterside was for the childrens entertainment, and at Boomers Fun House we were not disappointed. John Boy and Boomer the campsite Kangaroo kept the children entertained during both the morning and evening sessions. John remembered all the children's names and made them all feel really special. There were so many different games for the children (and sometimes the adults!!), and even though we didn't stay out late late, we didnt feel like we were missing out. While we were there Peppa Pig & Fireman Sam also visited. The bar prices were reasonable and the The Venue restaurant had a varied menu. Weymouth is a 5 min drive, the stunning Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are a 15 min drive. All in all we had a great time and the children didn't want to come home. Nothing negative to say!

Waterside Bowleaze Cove is one of the best sites we have ever stayed on, great location and just a few minutes from Weymouth by car or about 10 minutes by bus, which is how we travelled, there are about 4 bus stops on the site so it's probably easier to use the bus rather than trying to find a parking space in the town.

The site is very clean and tidy, proper footpaths and roads and well lit. One tip, it seems to me that you are better off booking an "owners" van rather that a Waterside van. Both would be of a very high standard and both very clean but an "owners" van is more likely to be better equipped, more sockets, larger TV, and generally equipped to a level that the owner of the van would require for themselves when they use it. We often find that Waterside vans, for instance, have no bedside reading lights. This isn't, what I call, a holiday breaker, but having poor eyesight it does make a difference.

The staff are outstanding, and there is a dedicated reception area, not like Haven, for instance, where you have to queue up in the bar and have some idiot in a rabbit suit prancing around in front of you, I felt like punching him on the nose!

Bowleaze Cove is beautiful place with fantastic walks or just sit up on top of the hill looking out over the sea, great for my age group, but there is also plenty for the kids to do in amusement park, and places to eat out.

Weymouth is a traditional Victorian seaside town with plenty to do and visit, there's Nothe Fort which is well worth a visit, and the gardens that surround the fort, there are also loads a very tame squirrels that you can hand-feed, but watch out because they will run up your leg given half a chance.

Near the fort there's a very nice little cafe where the you can sit out and look over the bay, the service is outstanding, freshly made coffee and good food, all served with proper china cups and plates, they know how to "serve" food, no paper plates and miserable faces here.

I would highly recommend Waterside at Bowleaze Cove.

We had a nice long bank holiday w/e here with 2 teenage girls.Caravan was comfortable, no problems. The only bad thing to say was that most of the crockery & cutlery upon arrival was dirty & all had to be washed before use, which isn't acceptable for a "5 star" place.Looked like it had all been slapdashly washed & put away wet. Ortherwise it was fine.Nice place, great beach on the doorstep, Weymouth a pretty seaside town with some great restaurants. We used the pool a few times but didn't try the spa.We checked out the evening onsite entertainment 1 night which was pretty good (I've seen a lot worse LOL).Also has a cafe, gift shop ,funfair & amusements onsite. Our girls enjoyed the funfair & the amusements amused us on the rainy day we had.Would recommend.

Have been going to waterside for about the last 10 years. have a great holiday every year, reception is easy and quick to check -in.
The accommodation is always clean and tidy.
Location is wonderful with the beach just across the road.
My only complaint is that the prices in the diner and the shop seems very high for what you get.
The bus service is wonderful to go in and out of weymouth.
See you again.

Spent a fab Easter break at Waterside. This holiday park sets it's self apart from the the UK chains. Excellent accommodation - well equipped and spotlessly clean Extremely well maintained grounds. Polite and helpful staff. Great facilities - clean well maintained pool with excellent steam room and sauna. Finally what stands out for us most - the excellent entertainment team - Johnboy and the team keep the kids entertained all week in Boomers Fun House. For those without young children the Venue provides good quality of acts each night. This is our 7th year at Waterside and it never disappoints!!
Interesting to read some of the bad reviews on here - about poor cleanliness, and poor standard of accommodation - in all our visits could not fault Waterside.

Room Tip: Book a caravan with a balcony!

Just returned from another fabulous stay at waterside. This really is a fantastic place to stay. I have two children 6 and 10 and they love Boomers funhouse (children's entertainment). Johnboy is fantastic with the children and really keeps them entertained for hours on end. The staff at the park are first class, polite, helpful and courteous. My only minor gripe is the temperature of the indoor pool, it needed to be a couple of degrees warmer! The other facilities are excellent also, we have been going to waterside for eight years and would not think of booking anywhere else in weymouth!
